Can you tell me why you can't accept His dying for your sins, sicknesses and death ? Why ? Is it because you would rather have them upon yourself instead of Him taking your place?

tawaen, must be an misidentity of personality, I think you mean Satan the prince of darkness, we are talking about Jesus - The Light of The world and the Light that lighted every man that comes into the world. You better sort that out quickly before it gets too complicated.

Spencer, how can you not worry if you have not told Him so, that is , you have accepted His redemptive work and thank Him ?
As long as you have not spoken to Him to let Him know - it doesn't count and that's a cause for you to worry !

Sonoran, do you really really believes what you just said. I don't think so. The only fairy stories are more likely the others but not this one as you see the whole of mankind story is center on HIS-STORY - Jesus dying on The Cross is the Cross-Road for every human being on earth to make a decisive decision, either to accept His sacrifce or to Reject it.
It's a personal choice of believe and confession to Him or a renouncement of God's mercy and His Free Gift of salvation.
That's is the only choice for mankind after the first Fall of Man.- just like Adam and Eve believe in God , take Life eternal from the Tree of Life or reject God's word and warning that you shall surely die - then take from the Tree of Knowledge (of good and evil) whicch we have aplenty here on this forum.
So be it ! The choice is yours to make and bear the consequences and responsibility of your action.
I will plea for you to reconsider by first examining the whole truth for yourself and not through "heresays

Epidavros, spoken like you know much better than God. In fact you must be greater than God to passed such a judgement on God.
Do you feel the conflicting crashes of conscience when you say that.
That inner witnesses will hav e told you you are just a fool thinking yourself wise - trying to dethrone God and be greater than Him.
Your ego must have been growing so much that no one have ever try or given up correcting you. Being uncorrected you feel you never can be wrong but forever right until the day you face the truth.
I hope that day be better taking place on this side of time and not after; for your sake!

Evan, you are very close the truth as that is exactly what God did.
After having created Adam and thru his Fall, all of mankind is involved as we are all progeny of Adam. Guilty be nature and guilty by choice , we sin and transgressed God's righteous Law written in our heart and not those written on tablets of stones.
God put aside His Godship , came as the Second Man to represent us in our death and be willing to be punished for all of humanity sins, sicknesses and diseases; so that anyone who believes that God has taken all our punishment on Himself and when we face God - He can rightly says there is no more sin nor penalty of death as all has been paid in The sacrifice of My Son as The Lamb of God and by His Blood you are now free !
Hallelujah! What a great maganimous God, His mercy, grace , and love endureth forever!
I have fallen in love all over again with My Saviour and God; just by mentioning and afirming what you have presupposed , Praise be unto His Holy Name! Amen!

That's the only choice that you can make - to believes or not believes.
Coming to God and Knowing God is simply just that. No difference from the choice that Adam makes at the Garden of Eden. However, the consequences of that decision once make will determines one's destiny!
So think carefully and don't make it so lightly , for you will have all of eternity to enjoy or regret once it's final !

This is a very good question. I am not Christian, yet, I do believe that Jesus was a very powerful man. He was a good leader and teacher. I answer your question with a question...why is it that I should accept this man's death for my sins while not acknowledging all the others who have died for my freedoms? I am not just speaking of the men dieing overseas, but of all those who spoke out for our freedoms and where persecuted. Did they not lay down their lives for my freedom of choice? ...and what sins?

I have come to the conclusion that any law that accepts the sufferings of the innocent as atonement for the guilty cannot be a good law! No honourable man should accept that another should suffer for him, for where then lies the notion of responsibility which is crucial to the Law of Retributive Justice.
To my mind, the idea that God wants blood (as if He is a vampire!) is at the bottom of the atonement doctrine, and requires the most fearsome savagery to fulfil. Even the so-called barbaric age in Africa, when sacrifice - including that of humans- was required, was better off; because at least you have to bring the object of sacrifice, and thereby display some sense of responsibility: The debt had to be paid, and by the man who owed it. But the christian of today will say, "Charge it on the Lord, the Saviour will pay"! In this way, rascality was sold on credit, and this credit system breeds a lot more crime. No wonder then that our world is now filled with so much violence, rape, murder and war! Afterall we can always ask the good Lord to remember His precious Blood! Indeed, the rascality of man has reached its zenith; he has brought his god to the earth and murdered him in the name of vicarious sacrifice! How infinitely arrogant! Anyway credulity is not a crime, otherwise it would not have accepted this rather obscene proposition as Truth.

I am a Christian, actually, but I already know the answer to this question. How can someone believe in something they have absolutely no proof of? You asking a non-believer this is like if I asked you to believe that purple aliens with shoes for heads put us here, and if you don't believe in the aliens, they are going to come down here and steal our feet. Would you believe that just because some believer said it? What if they had an ancient book, like the Bible? Would you believe it then? What if they told you that if you didn't believe you would be thrown into a pit full of tar, or that by believing you got sent to a magical planet where all your dreams come true?
For someone who has not felt God in their heart, why else would they believe you? Try to see this from their point of view. There is no difference between saying this about Christ and me saying all this crap about aliens, from the point of view of someone who has never experienced what you have. So maybe instead of asking illogical questions that don't help, maybe you should be out there doing the work of Christ, being a good person, helping those in need, and spreading a little love around. That would make sense. Arguing circular arguments really does not help much.

If you want an honest answer, I just do not trust the words of a book that was written over the span of centuries and translated by people to fit in with their own ideals of what the scriptures meant.
I have my own beliefs in Paganism, and feel spiritually content that my own beliefs are right, just as you are equally sure the religion you have is right.
Think what you will of my answer, but in the end, know I am only answering your question based on what you asked.
Additional -
With all the comments you make to each individual, it seems like you are going beyond merely asking the question and following the path of every other christian I have read here and trying to force your beliefs down everypne's throats.
I would suggest stopping now before you make a fool of yourself to everyone, but I know that it would be useless to even think it.
I also have to ask sorry, but when you were thinking of this question and posting individual replies, how much had you been drinking to think on all this? By the sounds of it, you must have been more wasted than jesus, since he apparently had alcohol coursing through his veins in Catholicism ceremonies.
If ever I were to convert, I would willingly choose Catholicism over christianity - they at least have an understanding of logic and acceptance.

Well for one I don't believe in sin. But also when you think about it the sacrifice wasn't really a sacrifice being god/son of god/whatever his death would still have sent him to heaven and so the death is meaningless its not like his soul was lost or anything he just went back home. There only sacrifice was that of his mortal body that was keep his soul for heaven.
It's not an impressive loss if he had died and went to suffer in hell for eternity then I may be impressed but he didn't so la de da

1. I don't sin.
2. I take personal responsibility for my actions.
3. There is nothing one can do about death.
4. The authors of the Bible created a god that is a psychotic nut bag.
5. I seldom get sick but I exercise regularly and have a good diet.
6. I don't bow, beg or bend before and being real or imaginary.
That will do for a start.

I'm a Witch and proud of it, ya evil cult pushing wanker.
Pull ya head out of your god helmet for 5 Min's ("god helmet": stretch anus muscles over ears.) and get a clue!
I have described the beliefs of xianity this way before, deny this:" The belief that a cosmic Jewish zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so that he can remove from your soul an evil force that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree... "
Nice cult!
Just as you spout BS about Witchcraft,( which you obviously have NO CLUE about!) so too did the Nazi's about Judaism. Religious persecution is religious persecution!
I'm sure you would be happy to see genocide legalised.
You make me sick and IF there is a hell, I'll see you there!

1) I can't make sense of somebody else dying for my sins. It just doesn't mean anything to me. Somebody may punish me for what I've done, I can grasp that concept. But why would he punish someone else for what I've done? Let alone, why would he punish someone for what I am going to do? In fact, it wouldn't even make sense if he was going to punish me for what I am going to do. But that God would punish himself for what I am going to do... that just literally begs belief. You have to believe it to make any sense of it at all. And that is where we get to point
2) I have no reason to believe he did, just like I have no reason to believe Mohammed wrote down the law which would get me into Paradise. Somebody wrote a book about it, and someone else wrote a book about something else. Many claims of the bible are seriously at odds with modern science (the idea that the sun revolves around the earth, that the earth is about 6000 years old...), and I prefer to live by ideas that have relevance and testability in this world. I probably won't actually ever know if Jesus was the son of god, and I won't know if Krishna was incarnated either, or if Mohammed went up to heaven to receive the word of god.

He is NOT my personal saviour.I pay the price for my mistakes,no one else.I believe there was a person named Jesus who convinced some people to believe that he was the son of god,not a very difficult feat to perform, after all,it is still being done to this very day.You have offered not one shred of evidence that he was/is the son of your divine being who lives up in the air which is exactly where the whole philosophy of your assertions is.I do not believe in your mythology nor the Greek or Roman mythologies.I am sick and tired of hearing some prat telling me that "God works in mysterious ways"when babies and children are abused and murdered and other dumb sh*t excuses when millions of people are murdered in acts of genocide around the world.I am not fobbed off with your trite and hackneyed cliches that some masochist devised his own death to save me,them or anyone else.
