And every one that hath forsaken houses, or bretheren, or sisters, or father or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

And that NOT ONLY do YOU inherit Everlasting life; but, that YOU will be paid back 100x's more? So, if someone in my family says to STOP serving Jesus or God, I should choose Jesus and/or God First. Right? They come before anyone or anything else. I should NOT choose to do what another person says 'over' the Word of God? Or want to hold onto property, 'over' serving Jesus or God?

CORRECTION.
In the verse;
the 3rd word; 'who'
Should be the word,
'that' NOT 'who.'

Yes, it does mean EXACTLY that!
First of all the verse says: "has left" in both Bibles.
Secondly: See Matt. 10:34-37
(34) Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword.
(35) For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law,
(36) Indeed, a man's own enemies will be persons of his own household.
(37) He that has greater affection for father or mother then for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter is not worthy of me.
So, yes; and you will gain a worldwide family.
And Jehovah Knows what you have given up,
and His promises all come true,
NOT a 1 of them has ever failed.
Job was richly rewarded.

Much of the danger of the wording you are reading comes from VERSIONS of the Bible this is not direct translations, but translations of translations (with sometimes a third or fourth level of retranslation). For the Bible in no way has ever advocated the break up of homes save for the one reason Adultry, and even then a husband or wife can choose to forgive a repentant mate.
The leaving is then to the choices they will choose. The Choices of pursuing ones conscience, but another english translation says it better... "and everyone who loses houses, or brothers or sisters... for my sake. NWT (New World Translation which is a direct translation from the original texts) So it is less about leaving things behind in the "daddy left us" sense, and more about those who lost these things due to the oppression that was to befall all faithful Christians. He also promises pursue first the Kingdom and all needs will be met. It was part of the sermon on the mount. But few understand what this Kingdom is, and that it is a real government from Heaven leading his current day prophets into the promised land (a paradise Earth). There are people who are all over the world teaching people to understand and follow ALL the commadments of God through Christ, those people are preaching an unpopular message, that all unrighteousness will be brought to an end, and Jehovah God through his Christ will judge this system, and bring it to a sudden end, allowing only those who heard the voice of the shepherd and heeded his direction will be ushered into this new world at first... And I don't mean that only Jehovah's Witnesses, though following the direction that comes through them is a safe guard, but not a guarantee. The Guarantee is in your heart, for Christ as Jehovah God is the knower of hearts. Seek and you shall find. God is not far off from those pursuing him, and doing his will.

God & Jesus Christ Must come first. There is no other way. God is a jelous God and will not stand for second. Following God you will really not be giving up anything anyway. Sure you may lose family and friends, houses and money. But in the end of it all, the reward will out shine it all. Our real family is God and Jesus and the Angels anyway. Our home is Heaven. All here on earth is just temporary, a fading fad.

The truth of the matter is that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost should be the most important people in your life. They have the power to change the hearts of your friend and family members. However if it came down to a choice between your friends and family members and Jesus/God yes you should choose God first. Ask yourself this question do your friends or family members have a heaven or a hell to put you in? Can they offer you eternal life? It is written seek ye first the kingdom of heaven and his righteousness and all these thing shall be added unto you. Matt 6:33

Mar 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
Mar 3:34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mar 3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of Yahweh, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
This being said by Yahshua, has the meaning that unless a person is not willing to walk in the ways of Yahweh, they have no inheritance with the Savior. And regardless of the relationship that you have with any transgressors you should not want to have anything to do with them.
2Cr 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what partnership hath light with darkness?
May Yahweh bless your understanding.

YES, God comes first in a person's life. That means over our own flesh and blood. If any one of my family told me to choose them over God, I would have to choose God every time.
Do not put faith in man, as man dies. God does not and will be here for us always.

Bambi, what He is saying is, if we Christians put God first and live the way we suppose to live, we would be a fellowship of extended family. In that sense the Christian community's relationships and resources are much greater than one person's family and resources.

I interpret this as saying if you give up things in your life in the name if Jesus Christ our saviour then you will receive everlasting life... giving up sin (remember everyone does it you cannot be perfect only Jesus is) But trying is good! Also trying to give up the bad things gossip, drinking, lieing, and etc. A life with Jesus and his father, God will give you peace and happiness and eternal life in heaven...That is my reading on that! Jesus and God are supposed to come first in your life...if they do it is easier to be a good daughter, mother, sister, brother, father, and etc. It doesn't mean leave your family.

Why Does it have to involve KJV? I have not spoken to Shakespeare in decades and he has changed his speach pattern. Yes God First others second you last. If God told you to do it that is first and a priori.
