im 16, 5'5 129 pounds. ive lost around 50- 55 pounds in the past 5 months from eating 200-600 calories a day. Some times i would go 1-4 days without eating at all. I would only eat dinner, some days i would have an apple for breakfast. I hate eating food, i regret every little thing that i put into my mouth {even 1 little grape :( } i would not eat past 4:45 - 5:30 every day. I never ate any grains, dairy products and no meat. All i would eat was salmon, other type of fish, chicken, fruits, veggies, salsa, lettuce, corn on the cob. I ONLY drink water.. NO juice, milk, soda.
I want to recover from this but im really scared to tell my parents or even a friend, i dont like people thinking down on me. I really dont kno what to do. Sometimes i cry about this. i want to start eating healthy, back up to 1,200 calories a day. BUT i do not want to gain any weight in the process. any one who can help me out , i would apreciate it

Anorexia nervosa is rooted in our emotions and the need to feel some control in our lives.
You need to seek some medical intervention whether it be a physician or therapist or both, please contact someone who is better suited at getting to the root of the problem.
You will have to retrain your body to accept larger quantities of food... Eating is NOT unhealthy, it is the best thing we can do for our bodies. Fruits and vegetables, meats and yes, fats, are FUEL for our bodies and they provide not only energy, but important nutrients and minerals that our bodies need to function properly. We cannot always know what our eating or not eating is doing to our insides, because we cannot see it. Our brains need these nutrients to work and to develop new cells which are essential to our survival.
Look up the latest food pyramid for a good idea how to balance your diet appropriately. Start your NEW habits slowly, don't pile them on all at once as this will only worsen the situation of you feeling out of control.
Good luck... feel free to email me if you like.

I think its great you have lost so much weight, I do feel you did it unhealthy, but thats done and you sound like you have reached a healthy weight for your height. You need to forget whom you saw in the mirror before and truly see the different person you have become. I am assuming you hate eating from the standpoint that you see it as an avenue towards who you once were. Exercise before meal times, it will increase your hunger and will also make you not feel guilt for eating. I love your diet, other than throw some whole wheat grains in, will help get calories up and energy you need. Just eat more of that healthy diet. You eat that diet even up to 1500 calories with moderate exercise and you won't gain a pound.

600-800 is NOT healthy at all. The lowest you can go is 1200 for a female, but some people don't even recommend 1200 calories a day. 1500 calories is enough to lose weight, but it's enough to keep you feeling full. What kinds of food are you eating? If you're on a low-calorie diet, make sure you're eating tons of fruits and veggies to help fill any voids.

Gaining back a little weight when you have been on a hard core or over the edge diet is not uncommon. You need to start eating more calories and exercising as well. By exercising the weight you are likely to gain will be in muscle and only help your appearance. There is a lot of pressure to look good and be skinny but it's not worth it if it hurts you. Malnutrition can have serious affects on your body long term.

I know how hard it is to talk to your parents. I have never been one to communicate my problems well. But I think this could be a potentially deadly situation and you need to get the courage to speak to your mom or dad or maybe even another trusted adult such as a grandparent or aunt\uncle. No one that loves you will look down on you for this. As a matter of fact people may look up to you for having the courage to speak up before the situation escalated. Please if you cant fix this situation on your own, talk to someone! You are still at a healthy weight, do something before its too late. I wish you the best. Lots of luck!

Oh, my gosh! Hon, you are starving yourself. Please talk to your parents and ask them to take you to a nutritionist. A certified nutritionist will help you put together a program to help you get back on track while avoiding a big weight gain. By taking in so few calories, your metabolism goes into starvation mode and comes to a grinding halt. You need to get your metabolism up and running again by eating frequent small and healthy well-balanced meals. At this point, your body is going to want to store whatever energy it can because it is in starvation mode. A nutritionist can work with you to get things to a healthy normal level that you can maintain. Please talk to your parents--I'm sure they will just want to help you.

Sounds to me like your issue is about control. You think you have little control in life, so you control your food--same as people who eat too much. But this is just silly. Find other ways to
develop self worth than body image. Nothing like a fat slob or an anorexic stick. Get over yourself and move on.

Seriously, you need mental health intervention now. Don't end up like Karen Carpenter.
Good luck

1200cal is enough only for coma patients.
your problem is not food -its psychological (anorexia nervosa) - tell somebody (parents, friends, school nurse, social worker anybody you trust), the sooner you get help the better chances of permanent recovery.
Dont wait - you are not gona get over this alone!!!

I bet a lot of your weight loss was muscle as well as fat. Try excerising more. That will create some hunger.
