To be a better Christian a person needs to know God and his son, what his plans are for his earth and how you fit into his plans? To start read John 17:3,
To understand the scriptures better, a person needs to use questions and allow the scriptures to answer. For example why did Jesus state at Mathew 5:5 that the meek or mild tempered ones would inherit the earth? This is because he knew what the scriptures said at Psalms 37:9-11,29.
Another example is found Mathew 6:10 Here Jesus tells us that God's will or rule will come to the earth? How did he know this?
Again he knew what Daniel said at Daniel 2:44, also the many things that his father promised. Revelation 21:3,4, Isaiah 11:6-9
If you need help in finding the answers please just ask.
If you remember that all scriptures are inspired you will find the truth and the truth will give you what you are missing.

Hi:
I am 47. I always thought I was a good Christian. I was wrong. Until I lost everything including my life almost. It was then and only then I realized I was not the good Christian I thought I was. I am now finally on the right track. But it took almost my death to realize what exactly God wants from me. I;ll tell you a little secret. He does not ask much of you. Hint: when you see a homeless person on the street that asks you for spare change, give them some, even if it is your last dollar. If you see a stranger that needs help or family member and neighbor, offer your assistance. Be kind to each other. Help out whenever you can where ever you can. Spread the good word that the Lord is our savior. teach the children of the future to love and not hate no matter what religion , race, color, or sexual preference they are. DO NOT JUDGE. Be a giver. Most of all worship and honor only one God. Not money, not material things. Appreciate all that he has given you every moment of your life.
God Bless you

We all, during our time here on earth, have felt (and may feel) those times when we can’t seem to get the flesh moving in the right direction.
Starting your journey with the word is the exact place that you'd want to be.
Our most basic ways to live exist in the bible and it is vital that those basic things are read and understood.
There are resources, like the bible on tape or cd that can help keep you going...
...Also, finding multiple copies in different font sizes helps as well, in that you can compare passages and read from a different one each day.
If you're finding it tough going to the word, then you may also want to commit yourself to a regiment of community service...
...whether its spending time at homeless shelters or advanced-age homes, or even visiting hospitals.
That wonderful feeling that is felt after doing this type of service is akin to that feeling of being
filled with the Holy Spirit (and most times, it is indeed actually just that).
Once you become used to being filled with the Spirit, it will be without a doubt easier to approach the many other aspects related to becoming a stronger Christian.

Try testifying to people. Share what and how you feel with others. Seek out what it is you do well, such as singing, drawing, writing and share that with people. Always do it for God's Glory and not your own. Pray, Pray, and pray everyday all day, keep a prayer and song in your heart and mind for God and His praise and you will find yourself being filled with the love of God. But a true Christian will always feel the need to do more and an unsatisfactory life for God. that's normal.

First, we have to look at things from God's perspective. Is God satisfied with your progress? Maybe He is and your pushing yourself to the breaking point without God even wanting you to go there. I personally read at the most a chapter a day out of the Bible so I don't get to much intake at one time to dwell on and try to meditate on it day and night. And during the day I try to remember to take time out to fellowship with our extremely awesome creator just to thank Him for what He has already done in my life and to worship Him for His truly awesome and totally cool personality.
Do not give up that is exactly what satan wants you to do. God would rather have you doing very little for Him than nothing at all. In fact just worshiping Him and praising Him for all His countless blessings He pours out is far more than alot of people do. Take care and May God bless you spiritually and do not overload yourself

Every human in this world cannot be any more close or far away from god then anyone. I am a christain my self and when things get bad i allways pray. Try rpray to god day by day and the best way to get closer to god is to attend church, learn more about him, and the best thing of all, beg for forgiveness or your sins. God loves you as well as everyone else. But if your do those, im sure you will feel more into God.
bye!

Pray continually, read your bible (even if you don't understand it) and ask for forgiveness. If you have asked you are forgiven and you also have to forgive yourself. Don't let guilt get the best of you.
God see's your heart and He knows that you want to be close to Him.
Try reading the books like Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They are easier to understand. The change doesn't come overnight. You will soon see that you are building your relationship with God and you will feel that empty feeling is gone.

First and foremost, prayer. Ask GOD. HE has a plan for you. HE has put a desire and/or dream into your heart. Your job in life is to chase that dream and/or desire down, and watch it come to pass, despite any critics. GOD speaks to us in many ways. Open your heart and mind to HIM. For me, HE comes to me in my dreams, and as a voice within my mind.
If you believe in your heart, and confess Romans 10:9 & 10, you should not feel empty at all.
Alot of being a Christian is giving of yourself. This can be done in many ways. Myself, I volunteer regularly with the American Cancer Society. I work on the committee that helps setup and organize one of the Relay for Life events within my town.
I hope that I have been of some help to you. Thanks and GOD Bless.
