Immigration stems from the word Immigrant which is a noun meaning.. one who or that which immigrates; specifically, a foriegner who enters a country to settle there.
Emigration stems from the word Emigrant which is an Adjetive meaning MOVING from one place or country for the purpose of settling in another.
