Hello. I have an old pc, its from 2001 and has 1.1 GhZ processor, Nvidia 2 series and 256 mb RAM, it keeps crashing, and the sound card is broken..not good? i know..

I am trying to convince my dad that it is really bad, and maybe he can support me with some money to a new pc, I am 12 years old so i cant buy one myself.
But he keeps giving me **** like "its very good still, stop complaining!" or "buy one yourself", i have calculated that with those small jobs i can get, it would take 5 years to buy a pc which is BAD, and still, in 5 years, it's even worse !

Please, has someone got any ideas of how i shall convince my rude dad to understand that it is bad and that maybe he could help me with some money?

i Really need one, i have much school works and i have to write!
I would really be glad if anyone could help me..

When talking to him use his name as much as you can.
People like the sound of their own name.

maybe you could reformat the hard drive and reinstall Windows?

sometimes a corrupted operating system can cause huge problems.

this would mean you'd lose everything, so if you have a CD-R you could back up programs by writing them onto CD -- or if you have a zip drive, that might work.

just a suggestion...

if this suggestion works, maybe buy a new sound card? cheaper than a new system..!! hugs

honey, no 12 year old has school work every day that NEEDS to be done on a computer. try writing by hand. and if there is something that you need to look up or do on the computer, there is time during the school day to do it at school. computers cost money. parents don't just have to throw new things at you when you want them.
