This is a question with many facets, the personalities involved, the reason for the comment, the setting & the familiarity with each other, of the folks involved. Although, with the exception of an emergency situation, people should, at least, remain polite. There is often a problem between defined truth, "Fred, you cut the board too short," the board is too short & perceived truth, "Fred, that's an ugly hat," some may find it pleasing or Fred may have some other attachment to it. A lot of the problem may stem from the current belief in "multi-tasking" [i.e. artificial efficiency]; people respond when they have not listened or read. I've received email respones with questions that were answered in the original email. I've even received a nasty-gram from a girl on YA who did not like, but obviously had not completely read, my answer to an automotive problem. Then too, some people cannot differentiate between the cajoling that works in the gym, "c'mon woosie, you can do 5 more reps," & encouragement that applies in the workplace, "we can finish 1 more task before quitting today." Unfortunately there are also those who claim that thier blunt & insulting manner is "efficient & businesslike" it is neither. Those people usually get away with it against co-workers; then blow the big contract by using it with a client. There is a saying, "someone who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter, isn't a nice person." Likewise you can learn a`lot about a person by how they phrase things. So, if nothing else, it provides useful insight. Though I'd still rather they did not do it.

truith is to 'sublimate our minds to their original purity'.
Truth is not a feeling.
Truth is not an idea.
The truth is found in the Bible.
Truth is a fact about something which when said people agrees with it.
Truth varies from one person to another
Truth is very simple and handy concept: It is the correspondence of a pictorial or symbolic representation to the thing being represented
e.g. grass are green, snake is poisonous, The Old Testament of The Holy Bible (or The Bible), contains over 100 predictions of the coming Messiah, The New Testament of The Bible records the life and teachings of that Messiah - Jesus Christ - and the history of the early church, Jesus was the innocent and pure sacrifice for a guilty and sinful world, everyone knows that Jesus died and rose up on the third day, Jesus ascension is a truth, The Bible - which is referred to as 'God's Word', and which Christians are asked to read and wholeheartedly apply to their lives - reveals the truth.
mathematically: 1+1 = 2, 7^2= 49, bilogically 1 + 1 = 1 (male and female producing new offspring = 1)
Quote about truth: "The truth that makes men free is for the most part the truth which men prefer not to hear."
Truth is one, but error is manifold.

Deceptively simple sounding question. Easy to oversimplify. There are different kinds of truth. Is the alphabet the truth? Or just a bunch lof letters that many people have agreed on? Is 1+1=2 truth? Introduce the concepts of relativity and morals or ethics and It becomes more complicated still. For an intelligent discussion You might want to be more specific in your question. Are you asking in an objective provable sense or what?

Truth is everything, and everything is truth. See how everyone answers with different ideas. This shows how much truth there is. Even that which appears false is a sort of truth. Everyone has a point of view, but only those with closed minds believe that they keep truth only to themselves.

God supported His last Prophet Muhammad with many miracles and much evidence which proved that he is a true Prophet sent by God. Also, God supported His last revealed book, the Holy Quran, with many miracles that prove that this Quran is the literal word of God, revealed by Him, and that it was not authored by any human being. This chapter discusses some of this evidence.
(1) The Scientific Miracles
in the Holy Quran
The Quran is the literal word of God, which He revealed to His Prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel. It was memorized by Muhammad , who then dictated it to his Companions. They, in turn, memorized it, wrote it down, and reviewed it with the Prophet Muhammad . Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad reviewed the Quran with the Angel Gabriel once each year and twice in the last year of his life. From the time the Quran was revealed, until this day, there has always been a huge number of Muslims who have memorized all of the Quran, letter by letter. Some of them have even been able to memorize all of the Quran by the age of ten. Not one letter of the Quran has been changed over the centuries.
The Quran, which was revealed fourteen centuries ago, mentioned facts only recently discovered or proven by scientists. This proves without doubt that the Quran must be the literal word of God, revealed by Him to the Prophet Muhammad , and that the Quran was not authored by Muhammad or by any other human being. This also proves that Muhammad is truly a prophet sent by God. It is beyond reason that anyone fourteen hundred years ago would have known these facts discovered or proven only recently with advanced equipment and sophisticated scientific methods. Some examples follow.

Truth is the absolute and accurate presentation of reality.
Water is wet. = accurate presentation of reality = truth.
Water is good = subjective view of water at the moment. Water can be good to a thisty man, very bad to someone trapped in a flood. = not truth.

Trust is something that is objectively factual. In other words, a fact cannot be trust for someone and not true for someone else. It is true without regard to the individual, their belief or opinion.
Fact: The tree outside my window has leaves on it.
Opinion: It is a pretty tree.
Bruce Willis may not think my tree is pretty, but it is true for him, for every celebrity in Hollywood, every politician on Capitol Hill, and every poor farmer in developing countries across the world that the tree outside my window has leaves on it.

Infallible and viewed through clear and waking eyes. It is, and all that can be. The truth of self, when all around is meaningless, it comes to you within yourself, once all layers of falsehood and masks of protection have been peeled away. The stillness of the centre of self, the eternal fountain of oneness with the Universe and with oneself, the macro and the micro are as one.

Truth is the acknowledgement of reality, or reality itself.
Truth approaches you to holiness and thus to G-d: "The seal of G-d is truth" (Rabbi Hanina, Babylonian Talmud Sanhedrin 64a)
