I'm told that 2 but you're right. Easier said than done. As far as letting it out. You can write it out in a journal, talk to some1 u feel comfortable with: if possible or beat the crap out of some1 (J/K). Letting go is NOT easy & as cliche' as it sounds you gotta hang in there. I hate every1 keeps telling e that :((

There are several ways to do this, which are two means to the same end.
You could talk with the people who wronged you (if that is possible), and let them know how they hurt you. After all, they might not have even been aware. Also, you can just come to the realization that you cannot change the past. You have to begin looking forward.
Either way, you will slowly and surely be able to get past the hurt.

I don't know if it will apply to you but I can tell you what I did.
I had to put in a lot of effort into focusing on all of the good in my life. It takes concentration, but my life has turned around for the better. When something gets me down or makes me angry, I focus on how my situation compares to others. There are a lot of people in this world who are a lot worse off than us. For example, something I might have to think is as simple as "well at least I have a home", and "at least I'll be having a hot meal tonight" because in reality I do have things that other people don't.
You have to force yourself to think this way because it is so much healthier than focusing on the negative in your life. Your mood will improve greatly, when you focus on the good stuff.

The best advice I can give you is what I do myself, and that's writing it, screaming it, talking about it, just really taking all those thoughts you're having and literally getting them out by releasing them to the paper, or the air you scream at.
Sometimes finding a good friend to just listen, or even a counsellor can be the best help possible.

just try to develop a positive state of mind. it's usual for a person to dwell on something that upset him but you've got to move on. Try to accept all the things that happen to you. anyway, it's all in the past. always remember there's a lesson to be learned from every experience we go through. you have your family and your true friends you will see you through your most trying times. try to develop a personal relationship with God. prayers certainly help.

I'm always hammering on the same thing but I really think that there are certain things you cannot think or wish away on your won. It will really help to talk to someone like a counselor. But, please, go to the right one. Get referrals, etc. It is a long process but it is also an exciting exploration of yourself!

Just tell yourself that you don't care anymore. Exercise, shop, do whatever you can. Just go find something fun to do. Go out with friends.
I don't know if it was a person that let you down in the past, but if it is, just forget about them. If they hurt you that badly they are not worth your trouble and heartache.
