Fly bite from last night, gotten really big.?

I got bitten by a fly last night when I was at a fire on the beach. I was scratching it a lot last night in my sleep, and now this morning when I wet my arm, I can notice that the lump is huge on my forearm, probably the size of a newborn's fist. Is this normal from too much scratching? I can't see the lump hardly, but I can feel it...

yes, you scratched it too much is all. you can apply ice to decrease the swelling and take benedryl to cut the itch. If you broke the skin, use antibiotic ointment and a bandage to prevent infection.
