Are you talking about Christian the way Jesus (fictional character by the way) wanted or the Christian way that is followed today? There is a difference. It's not ok for a christian to be a bigot based on race but it is ok for a christian to be a bigot based on sexual preference.

Well there are a lot of people with problems of thier own who feel relieved to dump their burdens on others with harsh words of hate. I personally have seen Christians struggle with this. No, it is not right. As someone who knows the truth, we Christians have to set examples for others. But at the same time nobody is perfect. All Christians should know this and admit it, as that is the principle the faith is ground into.

Unfortunately I don't see more than a handful of questions every day so I guess I miss seeing what you have.

However...the Internet is for ALL people, so it is safe to assume that there will be people of ALL types on Yahoo Answers.

Whomever you are, lol, you are right...it is not Christian to be "racist" :)

Peace be with you :)

**Caleb... I think you have a wonderful recipe there, but, I suggest you stand away from the fumes of the gasses emitted because it has caused you to wander to the wrong section for recipes LOL...though, thank you, you have saved my fingers the walk to find a good one :)

I do not beleive we as human will never get reed of being racists. I believe until we reach our goal to be in heaven will that ever stop. Have you ever seen a play ground were kids of under 5 years old do not play with each other. Because at that age most kids are kids and they do not see differences. Until we are taught the difference is were it comes into play and we draw a line between us ad humans. You have to look at your heart and do your best to get reed of that line and walk the walk of being christ like and hope for the best. Take care..

I know many racists who are not Christian. Surely, you have to question whether a racist has the love of Christ in them...

Many christians justify racism because of the "Curse of Ham"

The 'Curse of Ham (more properly called the curse of Canaan) refers to the curse that Ham's father Noah placed upon Ham's son Canaan, after Ham "saw his father's nakedness" because of drunkenness in Noah's tent.

In the middle ages, European scholars of the Bible picked up on the Jewish Talmud idea of viewing the "sons of Ham" or Hamites as cursed, possibly "blackened" by their sins. Though early arguments to this effect were sporadic, they became increasingly common during the slave trade of the 18th and 19th Centuries. [4] The justification of slavery itself through the sins of Ham was well suited to the ideological interests of the elite; with the emergence of the slave trade, its racialized version justified the exploitation of a ready supply of African labour. This interpretation of Scripture was never adopted by the African Coptic Churches.

Some Biblical scholars see the "curse of Ham" story as an early Hebrew rationalization for Israel's conquest and enslavement of the Canaanites, who were presumed to descend from Canaan.

The "curse of Ham" has been used by some members of Abrahamic religions to justify racism and the enslavement of people of African ancestry, who were thought to be descendants of Ham (often called Hamites), either through Canaan or his older brothers. This racist theory was common during the 18th-20th centuries, but has been largely abandoned even by the most conservative theologians since the mid-20th century.

Could one of you two Riegans switch avatars or something? I mean, really :)

Probably because different types of bigotry go together: if you're the type of person who relates to people via preconcieved notions/prejudices, you're likely to do so with both race & religion.

How are we supposed to tell you two apart with the same avatar? Arrrrgh!
Actually, the bible promotes racism quite a bit. From condoning slavery to genocidal acts, god of the bible loves playing favorites. The KKK is a christian based organization, don't ya know.
