Have you heard of the allegations surrounding Michael Vick the Atlanta Falcons quarterback and the dog-fights he’s been holding at his rural mansion.
He's accused of having executed eight dogs that didn't test well by ''hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground.''

Things like this hav ebeen going on for centuries. Dog fighting is a very underground secret society that goes on in our world today. Since January approximately 5 dog fighting rings have been broken up as well as about 200+ dogs seized and eventually euthanized. It is really important that we as a society get involved to make the laws and punishment for these crimes much stricter. I have included a few links below that can help you find ways to help. I have also included a link where you can send the NFL commissioner a letter asking him to suspend Michael Vick from ever playing in the NFL.

We have to get involved in order to make change, otherwise we are just hypocrites who sit around and complain about something but are not proactive in the solution to the problem.

I honestly hope they throw the book at this guy and lock him up forever - the feaking amoral a** that he is.

One good thing about this case though. Such a high profile person being charged with this brings to light the horrible dog fighting problem. I hope that it helps others recognize what is going on around them and more people will be prosecuted.

If more people are caught because of him, those dogs did not die in vain.

EDIT:
Just because things go on that we don't hear about doesn't excuse the behavior. If someone is doing something amoral or intentionally cruel to animals of any kind, it's wrong.

You try to put a stop to things when you catch them and you constantly try to make a difference.

It may not mean much to all the dogs or animals out there but it does make a difference to the ones you save.

Michael Vick would also bury the dog alive if the dog did not do good in the ring. I heard that on the News. I think that is really bad for what he did and I hope they put him in Jail for a long time. He is the kind of person that makes Pitbulls look bad.

Possibly, but he hasnt been tried yet.

The Grand Jury only heard the prosecution side of it, and Grand Jury's arent anything special anyway-just random idiots receiving half facts and one-sided arguments.

We shall see in the end; I for one hope that he actually wasnt involved, and will reserve my judgement of him until he is judged officially.

Remember, innocent until proven guilty--lets actually give them a chance to prove it, or hopefully give him a chance to prove it isnt true. Maybe then he can get involved against it-it would fix some of the bad publicity he's getting and we can always use more people fighting things like that.

I have not heard about the executions of the dogs that weren't good enough fighters for them. I must say I am not too surprised tho, people who conduct dog fights are sick individuals who get their thrills by hurting animals who deserve much better. I think they should make the punishment for having dog fights time in jail plus going to the humane society supervised and scooping poop and cleaning up after all the poor homeless dogs. Or maybe they should get their hands and feet taped together and they could let one of their attack dogs practice on them. I can't believe people actually enjoy watching dogs suffer.

No offense to all the dog lovers. But he is god in Atlanta, football is god in the USA. He will proabably be slapped on the wrist, pay a fine do1-3 month of jail time or even under house arrest and resume his football career. It's just how it is for these superstar athletes.

I agree and he should be locked up and throw away the key. This is inhumane treatment and anyone convicted of this charge should be done the same way they do their victims. Most of the rich and famous do such as this in order to satisfy there bored life,as they already have anything money can buy.

Technically... he's innocent until proven guilty in the United States... I guess not huh? What he is being accused of is sad and sickening!! and sadly enough, I agree with you... He's an over paid athlete with a head too big... I'm surprised he can even get his jersey on!!!

Relax, you will have a stroke. These types of crap happen every day, all over the world, you just don't hear about it. In Iraq they kill dogs and stuff them full of explosives on the side of the road. In Afghanistan they have dogs fight bears as a sport and a betting/money making activity. In Spain they fight and torture bulls as a national pass time. There is nothing we can do about any of this. What do you think Vick will get as a result of all this?
