there are no foods that prevent heartburn. How much, when and how you eat them will go a long way to helping prevent heartburn. Remain sitting upright for at least thirty minutes after eating, eat smaller portions, avoid spicy foods in the evening and do not drink beverages with your meal, drink them after the meal. Do not eat for at least two hours before going to bed. Heartburn is caused by stomach acids splashing up into the esophagus, these tactics serve to minimize such splashing. Taking prilosec or zantac also helps by decreasing the amount of stomach acid produced, and maalox or mylanta type antacids will neutralize some of the acids and that helps too.

Foods that aren''t spicy and no chocolate or caffeine. If you are having a lot of heartburn it would be wise to go have a Dr. check you out. You may have acid reflux disease. They can give you medicine to prevent this. I have the same problem.

try drinking cold milk. or you can get proper tablets and soothing fluid from boots called gaviscon i think... its fantastic if you get it often.
if you do suffer from it alot try eating your food slower as this often triggers it off....
