The insurance should pay as long as your policy is in force. As long as it can be proven another car hit it then you will be alright. If your car looks like it was hit while parked then your premiums should not be affected. As far as an adjuster looking at it, it will depend on your insurance carrier.

Well, speaking from the office of the body shop where I work- If it was a hit and run then it is up to your insurance company, that is if you are fully covered or have comprehensive, if you have the minimal insurance coverage then you're pretty screwed. Usually the insurance company will send an adjuster if it's a claim more than $1,000. Go to your local body shop and get an estimate, but first call your insurance company and make a claim.

Tough but that is the way it goes. My insurance sent me to an approved repair once they has assessed it they took the work in hand lent me a car, end of story. You company will pay but unless you have no claims protection you will lose some no claims bonus ans your premium will increase

If there is only damage to the bodywork then you need to take into account the following:

Will the cost of your insurance excess & increased premium for 3 years be more than repairing it yourself?

If the value of the car has been reduced, is the cost of repair more expensive than the value reduction? (if it costs £500.00 to repair and the car value only goes up £300.00, is it worth it?)

Are there any video cameras in the car park?

That's too bad. If you have comprehensive coverage it should be covered. It's possible your premiums will go up, depends on a number of things. They may send an adjuster our to you or you may have to take it somewhere to be adjusted, it depends on your insurance company.

Sorry to say,you will have to claim on your insurance, what you have to weigh up first of all is what limit you pay for damage up to,secondly how much no claims discount would you lose, honestly in the long run,if it's only minor damage, get it done yourself, this saves a lot of messing about !
