When you think you are absolutely sure....please check the number on The Big Ben ( the clock in London).

IV is correct. Many clocks have IIII because a sideways V in the 3 o'clock position sometimes makes it difficult to determine if it's the hour hand or the minute hand lining up exactly with one leg of the V.

IV is correct and it is this way on Big Ben it appears to be upside down but that is all, and as mentioned previously it is only done in keeping the number rotation on the clock face.

Big Ben shows IV upside down. Which is in keeping with the rest of the clock face.

The roman numeral four is IV yeah I checked look really close at big Ben, It looks like IU but it means IV because look at roman numeral 5 it's V but it looks like a U.

IV - there are never more than three equal letters in a row in Roman numbers - no idea though how did write numbers from 3888 on.
