Is it ok to tell a guy who you have beenplatonic friends with for about 4years that you are in love with him?

we leave in diff cities, met online 4yrs ago and met physically a few months later we love each other's company.he once asked me out but guess i was not ready for a relationship,guess when i eventaully was relaxed with him i tot he would ask me again but i got fustrated waiting for him to ask me out and delibrately cut off communication with him 6 months ago in order to let what i feel for him die. but just the other day i bumped into him at the airport and my heart started racing and almost jumped out of my mouth, my eyes went straight to see if he was wearing a wedding ring and found none( at least there is still hope, tot i had ll ost him forever) am afraid... what if he tells says that he loves someone else.

Of course it is ok! But your question is not REALLY whether or not it is ok... you want to know what he will say and what to do if he rejects you. Well, I am sorry to say, there is only one way to find out how he feels. Ask him. Tell him exactly what you said here, and hope for the best. If he says yes, then you're in heaven. If not, then at least you'll know and you can get out there and start looking for someone else. That said, you've played hard to get from the start and then cut him off. Not a smooth move. Don't get your hopes up.... but you may as well talk to him. You really never know what could happen, but there is NO chance if you don't take some action. Good luck!

How about going out with him first? I don't see how you can be in love with someone that you've never been out with. You should really get to know him better before blurting out that you are in love with him. It will be embarrassing and awkward if you all of a sudden say that and he doesnt feel the same way. Its as easy as saying, "Hey, is that offer for a dinner date still open? There is this great restaurant I wanna try out..."
