..that the rest of the world looks upon you like they've just sucked on a lemon..?
It's quite a leap to be so insular, only comprehending what's inside your borders, and even then only your little religious communities bubble of reality, yet claim your country is "selectively" blessed by god, and that only you and your ilk may ever carry his favour [unless they repent and become like just you of course], and be part of a corrupt, inept, political power base that props up a complete idiot who promotes greed and disharmony..
Is it hard for you to consider that there are billions of people who consider you as a theat to peace on Earth, our childrens future, and the health of the environment?
Do you feel the billions of eyes squinting with distaste at your hyper-insularity, and self centered ignorance, christian America..?

The question is for christians within nation of America, hence selectively asking "christian America".. This being unrelated to them being the majority of the US political power base in any case..

lhalmiut, what are you the majority of? The whole world? You're a good example of the small minded insularlity and arrogance I refer too.

Memory, you should choose another name. I did not hold christianity responsible for ALL the worlds problems, so that is a pretty ignorant mindset you have fabricated. Typical. You've not a very good MEMORY after all..

Machaira, aren't you aware of the state and the church being so close in your own country. Bush is one of the "good ol' boys", cocain and all.
Your denial and ignorance will be your undoing.

Livingtheword, how typical of your kind to misinterpret and then criticise.. My opinion of America was not in the questions, however the worlds opinion of religious nutters like you, being lemmings who are so easily manipulated by corrupt religious and state agendas WAS in the question..
Your ignorance, arrogance and insularity only confirm my questions.
Thanks livingthelie..

wow, you have quite an opinion about america! I have to guess that you havent ever lived here?
I don't think we are 'selectively blessed' by God.... I believe that Israel is God's chosen people.... and I am only saved by Grace thru the blood of Jesus Christ.
of course, i have been out of this country and have seen the world... and while other places are nice to visit.. and offer a different culture... i would rather live here where we can choose our lives, faith, lifestyle, etc.

yur pretty ignorant to say that Christians are the problem and nothing else. School shootings, Christians? Nope. Gang wars, Christians? Nope. Robbery, murder, criminal behavior, all Christian? Not all the time. Christianity is not the end all be all of the worlds problems, get that outta your ignorant mindset.
I'm surprised it hasn't clicked in your head yet that everyone here is considered "ignorant" by someone who doesn't agree with someone elses beliefs or opinions. Whether they are truly ignorant or not it makes no difference... people just like to throw that around. I'm not ignorant in the slightest but you seem to think so, and that's alright, I don't know you, you dont' know me and so we base conclusions off impressions no matter how small or insignificant they are.
Also, you DID hold Christianity for a ton of the, maybe not all, problems by stating we're a threat to "world peace" which concerns everyone in the world regarding every aspect of violence and agression because with World peace everything i listed wouldn't exist either... and so ya, you blamed us for everything wrong with the world, which is a very bold accusation to throw around.
And my name is Memory because its YOU that should remember what I say.

Not all of us are ignorent of the world outside, many of us desire change in America but change can be a long time coming. There are many protesting and asking for peace, for change in environmental practises, for a better future. There are also many Americans (Christian and otherwise) who are part of Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders and WHO and many other programs who reach out to the world. Please don't lump such a diverse nation into one group and then cast judgement for we are not all the same.

Christians are set apart. We are being persecuted by you and Jesus promised this would happen.
Proverbs 14:9
Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favor.
Very few Christians are self-centered as you accuse, but we are definitely God-centered in faith with His wisdom and His Word.
We understand that the world will hate us, but Jesus overcame the world. Jesus triumphed over evil and so will we.
There are Christians in other countries that suffer verbal abuse as we suffer it from you, but we will hold fast and wait upon the Lord. My friend, Jesus said, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" My hope is in the Lord and in nothing that man can offer.

Actually, yes. Yes and I'm not the only one.
But every country has its troubles. We seem to have more than our share, but different ones.
We are not all the same here.

They're aware but most believe that anyone non-Christian or anti-Christian are just "jealous" of their religion. Either that or Satan got to us and we don't like to talk about Jesus because Satan is in us. (*rolls eyes*)
