Experience is the best teacher. There might be a few things in life where I might have wished that I'd listened better, but hearing it in retrospect only served to confirm the lessons I went through myself.

Thanks for asking.

I was only 15 when my parents went through a nasty divorce. It was so hard on us kids; living in the house was like living in hell. We turned to the streets & substance abuse for comfort and healing. Very bad idea. Most all of us got into different kinds of trouble, but trouble none the less. For me it was exploring boys and the world of sex. I wish that my parents had taught me about it, had protected me more and had been there to hold my hand through some pretty rough teen-age years. It would have saved me a lot of grief down the road. Thankfully, today this is all behind me and I've learned, grown from it and moved on.

I wish I had known how short the time I spent living at home with my parent's would be. It seemed like it was never going to end, and part of that was because of the oppressively over-religious environment that I was raised in. However, I've been on my own now for about 8 years (well, married for two of them in September) and realize how short my first 18 years actually were.

I've had to learn eveything on my own. My mother didn't teach me a thing and i never had a father so it's been up to me the whole time.

I learned that you can't expect to have a baby just because you're pregnant. Twice. Sometimes you have a miscarriage instead.
