I think honesty is about seeing what is. Without judgment, and interpretation.

So in order for any relationship to be real you have to start with what is real.

for yourself especially, until you are honest about who and where you are, you can't skilfully be and go where you are going.

With out honesty you end up with an illusion of should be's, and this is not going to be conducive to the building of a firm foundation for any relationship.

I agree with 'u'self and Catherine. Honesty with the self the toughest requirement of wholesome relationships.

Honesty is seeking truth, and not with a capital "T" which Christians seem to think they have a monopoly on.

It means being truthful regardless of whether the facts benefit you or not.

I agree completely. That's why what I know of the Japanese culture (which isn't a whole lot) irks me so. All that about saving face just seems irrational to me.

Sorry, honest people don't believe in an organized religion, your lieing to yourself and playing into Big Brothers agenda.

Agreed! If you cant be honest with yourself, you cant be honest with anything or anyone therefor you only delude yourself.
