I scoop every other day. I only have one kitten, but she goes A LOT!
I add additional litter as necessary. I have not had her long, but I plan to completely clean out the box once per month.

I have two cats and scoop 3 boxes at least once everyday, but twice if I remember. Then once a month I dump the whole box and wash it. I add fresh litter throughout hte month when needed to keep the level at 3 inches at least
For one cat, you need at least 2 boxes, scoop daily, and then fully clean (dump litter an start fresh) once a month. I did this when I only have 1 cat. Works out the best. Once a week scooping is not enough and you are just begging your cat to develope litter box avoidance.

I have 4 indoor only cats, with 3 litter boxes, I scoop everyday and add to if needed, then I change every 10 days unless they need it before. I have no set rule on the changing but on the cleaning that I do daily. I think you should scoop at least every other day..........this way you can keep track of kitty's health, kidney stones can happen fast and can lead to death in a male cat in just a few days.

I don't use scoopable litter, I just put in all new fresh litter once a week. I usually fill the box up pretty high, though, but I have 2 cats so sometimes if it starts getting ripe I'll change it before the week is up. I buy the cheapest litter I can find and I usually go through 2 bags every 3 weeks.
My Aunt scoops her cat litter everyday and changes it once a week. My mom scoops hers twice a week and changes it once every two weeks.
There's no secret method. As long as the smell doesn't get too strong and the cats are willing to keep using the dirty box you're fine.

I have two cats and I scoop twice a day and change the litter every other week. I use scented powder or baking soda in the litter box also.

I have 4 cats, 4 boxes, scoop daily and add when needed.
Use about 3-4 10lbs bags of lightweight litter monthly. Wash box once monthly and then replace content - probably can sustain this longer. Zero bad odor that way, never heard a complaint from guests .

Owner of 5 cats.. years old 12,9,2,1,11 months.
They poop you scoop. My motto. we are changing litter 1 a week. We are always stirring the litter around. With 1 cat I would presume every 2 weeks maybe.

I change it once my cat thinks its too dirty - ie it scrapes and sniffs and scrapes and sniffs to try and find a clean place to do its business but either cant find one or takes a very long time to.
This is usually about once a week, and i pick the poo out when I see it, but thats my cat, they will all be different, just keep an eye/ear out!
PS you can prolong the life of the litter by mixing baking soda into it to absorb the smell and then the cat wont be so fussy! I am going to try that too...

I have one cat and I scoop it out twice a day to keep it from smelling. When it gets hotter then I do it more. The heat will make it smell more.
