I am neither Christian nor atheist but as a Buddhist would certainly qualify as an unbeliever. Certainly the sound is beautiful, the concept of shunning those that would lead you astray is wise but the talk of destroying cities is only really sensible if you are sure that it can be done without mutual destruction. The belief that God would protect believers from retaliation is a strong statement of faith but may not be a sure bet.

The singing is beautiful. The words are hatefull. Polytheists and atheists and unbelievers will experience torment? This is just what I expect from a religion.

"and never would we destroy the towns unless the people thereof are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the oneness of Allah, oppressors and tyrants)"
gee thanks. Uh, not? That is basically everybody!
Yeah it sounds beautiful when I close my eyes, but that's just because I don't understand it. I'm sure I would find Numbers a wonderful book too, if it was read in a language I didn't understand.

I minimized the picture because it was distracting, and now I'm only listening to the voice of the sheikh. Yes, it is beautiful. I've always found stuff like that gorgeous.

That's Sheikh Al-Afasy. The Imam of Masjid Kabeer in Kuwait. My favorite. He is blessed with a voice similar to that of Dawood (pbuh) (Prophet David). It makes me shed few tears out of my eyes in ecstasy. May Allah bless & protect him.

oh sure, that bit about destroying people who don't agree with islam (but they're merciful! they give them a chance to read the quran first!), yeah that was sooo beautiful... the fact that the singing is beautiful but the words are so ugly makes it worse i think.
