Sounds like John to me... After being exiled to Patmos, he probably didn't have 2 much time left.

Where did you get the year 109AD?
We don't know what happened to Matthias.
He could have been the last apostle to die.
Anyway, John wrote the last book in the Bible in the year 98 while imprisoned at Patmos.
Traditionally, it is believed that he died at Ephesus in about 100Â C.E. during the reign of Emperor Trajan.

The Apostle John was the only one not martyred. He was thrown into a boiling caldron of oil with no effect, so was exiled to Patmos where he received the Revelation, giving Christians hope and support through a troubled Hisory.
His later years were spent in Ephesus, and one writer in the fourth century noted that the Beloved Apostles grave was with them to that day.
It is only by the grace of God that we have length of days, and our Creator made provisions to save everyone who was eve born. Too bad everyone does not accept His saving grace.

St. John the Evangelist. I believe he was one of the only Apostles to not be martyred.
