i need it in DYE industry. Is it possible to detect basic colours? Kindly give me an update about this.Thank you

i believe they call it a digital camera?
its the software to interpret the image that you need this would need to be calibrated i would imagine
not much help i know but gives you another angle on things

The idea of the scanner is good. But you can use a camera. If you store the bile, then you should be able to pick out the colors. Maybe import it to "Paint" and use the brush for custom color. It is hard to answer with out knowing your application. If you want to match it for wall paint, a lot of paint stores have computer color matching.

put it on a flatbed scanner, scan it in (i prefer jasc's paintshop pro.)
jasc.com
you can get a free version there.
and invest in a decent flatbed scanner unless you already have one.
beyond that i have no clue.
