Not really amazing, check out the following:
Per The Guinness Book of Records: A tabby named Puss, owned by Mrs. T. Holway of Clyhidon, Great Britain, reportedly celebrated his 36th birthday on Nov 28, 1939 and died the next day, but conclusive evidence is lacking. The oldest reliably recorded cat was the female tabby Ma, owned by Alice St. George Moore of Drewsteignton, Great Britain. This cat was put to sleep on Nov 5, 1957 at the age of 34. The average life expectancy of cats is 13-17 years.

I think it is great that a cat has lived for 20 years.

Let me take a guess here: This cat was strictly an INDOOR cat, right? In the event that this is true---NO, this is NOT unusual. Indoor-only cats live much longer, happier and healthier lives than indoor/outdoor or outdoor only cats. I've heard of indoor cats living for as long as 28 to 30 years.

I've known a few people who had indoor cats that lived for 18-20 years. My Mom's cat is 16. It's really awesome. I think it shows that they have been well taken care of and loved!

Well if you say it so plain and blunt like that no. But if you look deeper into that cat's life it means you're a really awesome owner.
FYI, the oldest cat's like recorded was 32 years old. I hope your cat lives longer!

Not really. My cat died when she was about 21, and my grandparents' cat lived to about (I believe) 22. I've known (of or personally) quite a few cats that have lived to their 20s.
