I have heard of this flat earth society but have never actually met anyone belonging to it. I think I would need to speak to someone face to face to see if they are serious or not.

Don't forget that men have one less rib than women, ALL dating techniques are flawed even if they do all corroborate, that both dinosaur and humans coexisted even though this has been debunked, that ones diety worship belief system is the only correct one and only those who adhere to it have access to eternal life, even though this it's clearly a bigoted, arrogant, self serving, hypoctritical and too often cruel belief system..

I do not think anyone seriously holds this idea today. I would also remind you that it was our scientific leaders that held this view in the past. Thats the beauty of science (by todays thinking). You can be dead wrong-but it can still count as right, so long as you allow your thinking to evolve with popular thought.

there are a few people who take it seriously, but most often it's useful to compare it to beliefs that are more popular but have about equal evidential support, such as young earth creationism.
