Chevron Delo 400 15w40 or Shell ROTELLA® T are the only two oils I have run in the 6 Dodge Cummins trucks (~1 million miles so far) I have had or currently have. I personally prefer the Delo over the Rotella due to the foul odor that seems to linger with the Rotella. Both of these meet the new Ash/low sulfer requirements of the 6.7L that is out in the 2007 mid year Cummins too.

there are probably numerous other oils available that meet the API requirements but these two are long time proven over millions of miles being fleet proven.

likewise, of any of the 6 Cummins I have had, not one of them has been a quart low upon time to change the oil. I set up changing my oil & filter at 5,000 mile intervals basically to make it easy to remember (5K, 10K, 15K, 20K, ... 230k, 235k, etc.)... but I believe the manual says you could go out to 8K miles if operating in a clean environment (not dusty conditions) and not under heavy loads...

Dodge uses Rotella that's all i use 2 diesels> Dodge or the dealer is full of it i have never use that much oil may be 1qt Or it would be sitting at there shop. call DC an talk to tech support also make a report an keep calling so they know you have issues.encase something happens later on 1-800-992-1997 is there oil spots where you park the truck. Also make sure that they are putting in if not that may be your problem. They have some ? people doing there oil changes have checked mine after oil change an was 1 qt low.
If they used Chrysler-rotalla oil in your tr should smell= stink for about 300 miles.Mine are 05= 5.9 an the oil change are 10,000 miles per DC & Cummings check on the 07 still 5.9 till 08.

My Cummings never used oil with 90,000.00 Miles.
I used Penzoil 20/40 and changed every 5000 miles
I pulled a very heavy 5th Trailer..............jr.
