as long as you work up a good lather, it cant hurt. Rinsing your hair in cold water, closes the cuticle and is good for your hair and makes it shine

It makes your hair shinier. Beer also makes it even more shiny, without freezing your nads off. Or, you can go all out with mayonnaise.
