Varies from State to State. Each state has an 'Award' covering the minimum pay conditions. Say about Aus $18.00 per hour plus shift loading. Best cleaner's money is in the Health (Aged Care) Industry.

Cleaners are generally paid $15-18 per hour as sub-contractors. In other words, as in most places, not enough!

Some international students are cleaner I know, and they tell me they get $14 per hour. This is tax free, so visa restrictions don't apply for them, and can work well over the 20 hour limit for students(because it is dodgy)
