China- has been manufacturing things for the United States and other countries for a very, very long time... Cheaply ! I think the United States and other countries need to re-evaluate China's safety and health codes BEFORE they/we buy things that might or may be harmful to our families and children.. How long do you think all this has been going on and China is JUST now being caught..? I'm speaking mainly of toys.. I don't buy candy from China. Also, the United States in particular needs to charge a tax if they aren't already to have China manufacture/ship goods here.. and have a better inspection policy's. Maybe, it's time for us to go back to made here/buy here INSTEAD of farming out our goods/services elsewhere.. I try to buy American whenever possible..

China, as we all know, has only recently entered the International market and they are doing what all other "new " countries have done under the same circumstances: copy what others have done before them. Contrary to common opinion, copying is not that simple. Since their culture is very different from ours, they do not always understand what they are copying and therefore, they do not always copy correctly, but they will learn. One must also consider that they have not developed safe rules and regulations in their production and they export their products indiscriminately, without paying too much attention to health and hygiene safeguards. So, if I were you, I would buy only Chinese products that are characteristic of China (rice, soy etc) and not products which ape Western food recipes.

It is impossible to completely avoid products made in China, however I do the best I can. I check everything I buy to see where is is made or grown and if I can find that product or something very similar made here in the US I will buy it even if it costs me more.
More of us better start doing that because if we don't more of our citizens will lose their jobs.
