If it fits your budget and you're a good driver why not? Just remember that you have to take good care of your car. Usually people start with small cars to get the hang of driving and everything and then move up the ladder. But I really don't see why it would be a "bad" option. As long as you won't strain your budget too much and you can afford the maintenance costs anything is a good option. And remember... its the car that chooses the driver, not the other way around. When you find a car that calls out to you, you'll know its the right one. In my case it was a 1994 Sentra Coupe... sure, its no big deal. But it just called out to me and the engine was amazing.... so, I say go for it.

Yes!!!! Look, I am sure you are a good kid. That has really very little to do with operating a motor vehicle. A 350Z is a sports car, slick looking, but has the handling characteristics that require constant attention. Which at the first stage of learning to drive SAFELY, you will be hard pressed to control. Start with something a little more sedate, a little more forgiving when you make a mistake.

You must be really good! Welcome to Car World. Heres where good old dad will kill off that 350Z idea "insurance payment is just to high on a sports car" Ask any way the 350Z is a great car even the 2003 year.
That said let's talk practicallity any higher education soon? will you need a car with room for just one passenger? no trunk? Parents idea of a car and your idea of a car will be different. ASK mom and dad to show you pictures of there first cars. Don't make fun of the hair cuts or that that they had hair...Be nice get a job buy a car... and be in debt like the rest of us.

350z is a powerful car and at high speeds and sharp corners even with a modified suspension you still get alot of understeer. so that is something to think about if you like speed or just want to peel out for the ladies or fellas. but also this car is a high profile theft car these cars are looked at as trophy's for jackers so be careful if you do get one. but i would say to get maybe a small size bmw if you have the cash or maybe a nice lil sentra se-r or maybe a new honda if you like the street scene with a lil bit of speed. plus a new car isnt the way to go for your first car cause you havent learned the essentials of car care yet. so be patient there will be plenty of other 350z's....lol

Um, no. I don't really feel like getting into a head on collision with a 350z doing 100 miles per hour.
No one should get a new car for their first car. That's ridiculous. Get something used, and crappy. Also get something in manual (if someone can teach you). That way you ruin an old and crappy car learning stick. No one takes you seriously if you drive an automatic 350z.

if your parents are wealthy. a new 350z is pretty expensive. a used one isnt cheap either. also, will you be paying the insurance or them. the insurance will be through the roof for a new driver with a 350z. especially if you are a male. beautiful car though.
