In the book of Job it is explained, but you have to think about it. Satan comes up to God and says "No human on earth would love you if you didn't give them everything. Look at your servant Job." This is basically an ongoing argument since the Garden, where Satan blatantly called God a liar, and that humans did not need God, but could be gods themselves. God disagreed, and said that humans had goodness in their hearts, and that there were many who would follow him despite worsening conditions. So he allowed Job to be tested by Satan, in order to answer Satan, as well as the onlooking angels, and later on, humankind itself. Job stood up to the task, therefore proving Satan wrong. God allows all this to happen for the simple reason that humans Need to understand that without God, this is what the world is like. He does not interfere now. He sent his son down to die for us, so he wiped out death. To God we are only sleeping. At the ressurection we wil have the chance to live without interferance from Satan and get back to God's original purpose for humankind. To live forever on a beautiful earth. The time is soon, judging from world events, so don't worry about today. Those who have died are not forgotton thanks to Jesus.

These things happen for the same reason the sun rises because that's the order of things. The one thing God can not do is break his own "Word." If God were to perform a miracle in 1066 to prevent William the conqueror from taking England because someone asked him to then we wouldn't be here now in the way we are. The rules are live and die in a cruel world, so accept it and stop being childish.
To know God is to understand that the things in this world do not matter in the long run. To be compromised by the daily heart break and sorrow of existence is to miss out on enjoying life for even if unfair it has it's bright spots. You had best enjoy them as they become available.
Blessed Be!

Jesus does talk about suffering:
Luke 13:1-5:
1 Some people who were there at that time told Jesus about certain Galileans. Pilate had mixed their blood with their sacrifices.
2 Jesus said, "These people from Galilee suffered greatly. Do you think they were worse sinners than all the other Galileans? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you turn away from your sins, you will all die too. 4 Or what about the 18 people in Siloam? They died when the tower fell on them. Do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you turn away from your sins, you will all die too."
Tell your friend that no one is innocent, and that God gives us the right to make our own decisions, rather than control is like robots. Because some choose the wrong, others will suffer; also God is a righteous God...those who sin cannot enter into the greatness of His presence without being absolved of sin (wrong-doing). His presence would overpower them, and they would die of shock. When we cover ourselves with the precious blood of Christ, we achieve that sinless state. God only sees the sinlessness of Christ when He looks at us, because we have accepted and believed the suffering, and extent of the sacrifice, that Christ made for us at calvary.
One day we will be in Paradise with our Lord where sin is no more, and all is goodness, light, and love. Hallelujah and amen.

God's intention was not suffering
The first is that suffering was not God's intention for the human race, though He knew it would come. Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden lived without suffering or pain. God knew in creating the world however, everything that would happen - including the arrival of sin and suffering - He knew this because He knows everything.
The second is that suffering came as a result of man - not of God. Genesis tells us that Adam and Eve were in the perfect world, where all their needs were met and there was no suffering, and then, against God's instructions, they ate the fruit of the tree.
Genesis 3:9-19
This makes it clear that the potential for suffering in the world, and the existence of pain in the world is a result of man disobeying God. Adam and Eve willfully disobeyed God and brought sin into the world. Suffering is the result of sin Romans 6:23), and so suffering comes from man and woman - not God. We are all descended from them and have inherited their sinful nature and world - we are sinners too and live in a world tainted by sin. Therefore we must expect suffering.

Why do we always blame God for the bad in ours and others lives God is a loving, merciful God, why would He contradict Himself. Some bad things that happen to us we bring it on ourselves, through our negative talk, evil deeds, and disobedience toward God. God did say He would punish sin wherever it is found. We open the door for the devil to come in, through alcohol, drugs,etc... satan was doomed when he allow his children to nail Jesus to the cross, his days are numbered. Remember satan has children on earth too, and all the killing, and suffering of innocent people are the very acts of satan children, and their day are coming just like their father the devil day is coming. When he, his angles, and children will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

We do find the reason why God has permitted suffering in the pages of the Bible. Many people mentioned Job, his experience did teach us that Satan is behind the suffering that we see in the world today. But many people miss the big picture. Satan claimed that humans only worship God because of what God can give them. Job proved that an imperfect human can keep his integrity to God and worship him because he loves him, eventhough faced with hardships.
But the whole reason WHY God permits suffering goes back to the Garden of Eden and another challange that Satan made.
When God put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden he told them that he wanted them to fill the earth and make it a paradise, he only gave them one law to obey. 'Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad, if you do, you will die' As their creator, he had the right to give them that law, and their obedience would prove their appreciation for all he had done for them.
When Satan tempted Eve, he lied to her and told her she would not die if she ate the fruit and she would be like God, able to decide for herself what was good and bad. Eve took the fruit, ate, gave it to Adam who also ate. At that moment, they joined in a rebellion against God. They basically were saying they didn't need God to rule them, they could do it themselves. This challange would take time to prove. So God stepped back and has let humans try to rule themselves. He has allowed them to try every form of government. What has been the results? Man has dominated man to his injury, mankind has ruined the earth, which is why we are seeing all of the natural disasters, we have seen all of the things that you mentioned in your question.
The good news is that God's original purpose never changed. He still wants the earth to be a paradise, filled with happy, peaceful humans. And the time for him to step in and correct all of the damage that humans and Satan have done is coming soon.

Now you see that we have a big job to do- one that has barely started. God gave man to have dominion upon the earth. Jesus taught us to pray that the kingdom of God would come to earth as it is in heaven. Where are there disciples that do this? Suffering brings glory. Read the 20 chapters in Genesis about Jacobs trials. There are 3 gospels and lots of chapters in Psalms and Isaiah that foretold and show the sufferings of Christ. Nobody has suffered more than He. And He did it voluntarily to ransom you for the Father. To be forever in His Glory.

What do you expect God to say about suffering? Do you expect him to talk like other religious leaders say things about suffering but brings no Hope. There are scriptures in Old and New Testament talking about God is our refuge, our strength, our shelter, our Hope etc. Why do you think these scripture are written so that we can go to God during times of suffering. Bible talks of life of Job, full of suffering, an excellent example of how one should react while in pain. Lives of Joseph, Moses, Jeremiah, Jonah and other prophets who faced suffering.
When you say God killed.... Are you sure God killed them or he just let evil people continue with their evil ways? Bcos he is gracious God and let me tell you the answer of all these things is " Righteous will live by Faith"

Hello and Love in order for it to be love must be not forced we must have the power to say NO in order for Love to be Love. Okay some back ground to clear up a misunderstand as to Jesus/God in Heb.1:5-9 The Father address Jesus as God and in John 1 we read it was He that created this world now when in Gen.3:15 mankind choose to say NO to God and yes to satan with sin came the results of death, pain and yes bad things happen to good people cause of the world in which we are in, but Help IS on the Way and that help is in the person of Jesus. You asked to explain pain and suffering, whos mankinds or God's has no one ever explained His side of this pain thing, In Isaiah 53 we are told [verse 2 but read the whole chapter] that Jesus became man, He giving up His divine body He became like one of us, when on The cross, your cross and mine the ONLY Thing The Father could do was to watch Jesus the second member of The Godhead die in our place, and when Jesus went back to heaven He took NOT up His divine body but kept the human one "Forever" by His stripes you are healed, yes children suffer but God has a forever answer, The Living Christ, and we CAN trust Him with what we do not understand Peter walked on the water with Christ but sank when instead of looking to Christ peter took his eyes off and looked at the water instead, quit looking at the pain and suffering [water] keep those eyes ON CHRIST and you won't sink on the problems HE IS giving you power to walk on, again the answer to your deepest need IS THE LIVING CHRIST, find out more free bible lessons www.amazingfacts.org God bless.

According to organized religion, we are not supposed to understand the why of human sufferings, but if we put our faith in the Lord all will be well.
The truth is that even those that tell you to be of good cheer and all will be explained to you at some future time have no idea why these things occur.
I believe that we take this journey through life unguarded and unsheparded. What we do and what we make of life is up to us. God has that part of our Psyche that we award to him and no more.
We are responsible for ourselves and our families.
