As evidence I submit this entire forum. Does the Christian god impede the spelling skills of his followers on purpose?

Peter: I am not talking about a simple spelling mistake. Everybody makes mistakes. I'm talking about the complete lack of spelling skills.

I just answered this question where the guy said he had asked before and was criticized for his spelling, so he re-posted it. This is the actual re-posting.

I'm a lifelong Christian, and possess what I would consider to be a reasonably good command of the English language. I've won multiple awards for my writing. Many Christians I know hold postgraduate degrees; it took good writing skills to get them. So no, there is no correlation between Christian belief and substandard spelling. As for grammatical issues, I've definitely seen questionable grammar from non-Christians on this site.

i think of someplace between the time we are born and the time we grow to be adults, there comes a factor whilst the mind takes over the non secular. it quite is the factor the place we start to question the justifications at the back of our blind faith. some human beings are in a position to examine and discard impractical ideals, and carry directly to a pair ideals that are innocuous yet sensible. yet another be conscious, we start to justify by way of asserting issues like, "particular, there is no Santa Claus, yet what's incorrect with seeing the smile on a new child's face if he thinks there is one?" Stuff like that. This logic can happen basically with awareness, as some one suggested in one or the solutions. awareness is proportional to adulthood. Does that make atheists greater mature? it would desire to, yet there are various genuine believers obtainable, with numerous awareness, who're in simple terms as mature. Sorry to declare, costly Linz, yet atheists have not got the exclusivity on that turf....

I am sorry to disappoint you, but I have a Master's Degree in English. You didn't look at all of the evidence.

Look at some of the atheists' answers and the Muslims' answers as well.
Many of them are grammatically incorrect, and the use of syntax is faulty.

No, there is no correlation.

Some of the people who respond are teenagers who are not listening in school and/or people who have weak skills.

When you make a statement such as this, you really need to look at ALL of the posts by Christians rather than just a few.....using the ones you pick and choose to support your theory makes you look silly.

Nope.

It is an American problem

I am not American. But i spell well as a christian.

So, it is not really about Christians. Americans need to spell better.

Most of my friends in Asia, myself included, can spell so much better than Americans or any other caucasians, for that matter.

It is a mystery especially considering spell-check is readily available..

Who knows maybe there is an obscure commandment that reads.....

Thou shalt not spell correctly or use correct grammar..

It's how "speaking in tongues" manifests itself in writing.

Errors in spelling and grammar are indicators of a deeper sloppiness of thought. It is what happens when you jettison reason and logic for faith.

"Reason is the Devil's greatest whore; by nature and manner of being she is a noxious whore; she is a prostitute, the Devil's appointed whore; whore eaten by scab and leprosy who ought to be trodden under foot and destroyed, she and her wisdom ... Throw dung in her face to make her ugly. She is and she ought to be drowned in baptism ... She would deserve, the wretch, to be banished to the filthiest place in the house, to the closets."
— Martin Luther (1483-1546)

Nope. I blame public education. It drives me NUTS when I see people use "your" for "you're" and "their" or "there" for "they're." I learned the difference between those in second grade, if not first grade!

I guess some people just weren't paying attention in Language Arts. Religion has nothing to do with it.

I am an atheist an occasionally misspell things. Then you get attacked for your spelling and not your ideas. It is just a ruse, an ad hominem argument, if you will.

" I'm a lifelong Christian, and possess what I would consider to be a reasonably good command of the English language " sums my answer up quite nicely.
