I am working mother with 3 kids. I just had a baby and have been planning to extend my leave. But, here's my problem... I don't feel I can stay home any longer. I am feeling really overwhelmed and feel that maybe its best for me to return back to work. I find it hard to adjust to the fact that I am currently home. Is it normal to feel like that?

Yes! It is very normal to feel overwhelmed staying home with 1 baby much less multiple children.

If you want to go back to work go for it, if you feel you just need time away then talk to your sigificant other about it, maybe you could join a mothers group,go to the gym hire a sitter for a date night every week.

It's not selfish to take some time out for yourself, youre the Mama you work hard and it doesn't make you any less devoted to your children, see about getting someone to watch the kids for an hour or so everyday and go get your hair done or curl up with a book and some ice cream just do something for yourself you deserve it Mom!

Everyone is different. Being a mum means everyone will have an opinion on what you do. My advice is do what is right for you. I prefer to stay at home with my 2 but your children won't benefit from a mum that isn't happy. You must take your needs into consideration and if that means by going to work you are a happy mum that then enjoys the time you spend with your children I don't see anything wrong with that. Be strong and give it a try if it doesn't work out at least you tried.

Good luck with making your decision. Hope I helped.

Yes its very normal. I am currently a stay at home mom also. There are days when i feel exactly the same way. But when you look at your children sleeping or they say something cute your love for them overcomes you and you feel ok again. Its like why was i thinking like that..when i can be here and witness this cute thing my child just did. Its ok and completely natural to feel this way. However if it becomes frustrating take a little time for yourself and hire a babysitter for a while. Every mom needs a little time for herself.

I have heard some moms say this. I never felt that way, but I worked from home, so I was grateful I didn't have to leave my daughter. Maybe find a part-time job so you can still be home with your kids where they need you but still have some independence and time to miss them too. Good luck!

4 kids it's very overwhelming.... if you can go back to work, even though your salary will go straight to babysitting.....but oh well! your choice. Unless you have an excellent career with super pay, do it asap.
And don't feel bad, you are a working bee.
