"Hell" is simply man's grave.
It is closely linked with death.
In Revelation, it is called by its Greek name...Hades.
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.
Death and Hades destroyed. In the ' lake of fire'
Anything in fire gets destroyed.
Religion has confused Hell/ Hades with the lake of fire.
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
No death= no graves.
(Revelation 20:10) And the Devil who was misleading them was hurled into the lake of fire and sulphur, where both the wild beast and the false prophet [already were]; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
It is clear to see that Satan the Devil is not ruling over a fire filled place. He himself , and his demons, are
to go into the lake of fire.
A permanent destruction.
And with him go the wild beast [ governments] and the false prophet [ false religion] both are organisations.

Some people believe the lake of fire will be the Dead Sea. It is the lowest sea level point on Earth. Scientist have found that that has been the hottest place on earth. It's where God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire. That shows how angry God was with these cities. Could be.
Did you know that the mud from the Dead Sea has ash and today is sold as facial masks? pretty intense.

This depends on your belief.
I actually do not believe in hell.
The Bible may not be so accurate about everything. Obviously, earth is like 5,000 years old... not 3.6 billion years old. Nope, Adam and Eve existed before dinosaurs! Dinosaurs were only put on earth to test the people's faith.
Sorry, that just doesn't make sense to me.
I don't mean to offend anyone.
Anyway to answer your question, hell is merely part of your imagination!

some people would say that its a mental state because when you die you have no body and therefore cant physically go there but some people believe its a real place asking the defintion of hell would help you find more than actually asking where it is

I dont know what I believe that hell (if it exists) eill be a state of mind. Coz if god can give us dreams, give us visions and all, he dont need a physical place does he? It'll be like the MAtrix except a bigger douche (god) will be running the show

Last time I looked, it was in the kitchen of a little barbeque restaurant, just outside the downtown section of Birmingham, Alabama ... in August.
I spent about a week there, one afternoon.

Hell is the grave. A hole in the ground. Nothing more insofar as humans are concerned.

there are many speculations , my faith doesn't specify where hell is just that it is in the afterlife and people do suffer in their graves, there are other details but no mention where exactly we can find it .
