may i know who is mark,matthew,luke and john(if i'm not mistaken)in christian?

i hope u all can answer this in details since i'm a muslim and i want to learn anything bout this religion.to see if there's any connection with islam.thanks.

They were followers of Jesus Christ, and authored the four gospels in the New Testament.

These are names of first 4 books in New Testament of Bible. Yes, of course these are also the author of same books. Matthew was a tax collector, Mark's profession i am not sure , Luke was Physician & John was a fisherman. Later they all became Christians i.e. followers of Christ. Only Matthew & John among these four were apostles.

Mark and Luke were disciple of the Apostles, Matthew was a disciple of Jesus. John was a witness sent by God.
John the Apostle did not write the Gospel of John, or Revelation they were written by John the Baptist .
