I have been told that he is a flame point or fire point Siamese, but he looks like a red rag doll. If you are very knowledgeable in cats and cat breeds/genetics, please help me!
I am not going to do a DNA testing, I am not THAT curious.
Please e-mail me for pictures, my photo bucket isn't working for some reason. baby_7991@yahoo.com

My cat is a short-medium haired cat. I am unsure of his weight, but he is about normal. He is a cream colored white through out his body with a very vibrant red mask and tips, including his tail. During the summer his red is VERY bold and during the winter he is almost pure creamy white. His nose is pink along with his pads. He is a beautiful animal and I am very curious. So please, no criticism. I am not stupid, my cat is real not a stuffed animal.

Like I said before, I want to know because he is beautiful and I would like to know what he is, I have seen more like him, I just don't know what breed he is. He is not a mix, my mom bought him for me as a surprise gift and had to opportunity to get papers, but of course, she didn't care and said no. I have asked her several times to this day, and she doesn't remember.

oh i have an adorable flame point too but man is he a spaz.
i found him when he was near death and 3mos. I knew right from the start he was mix with a large breed cause he has the most hugest paw but there are no pointed color in main coons. Luckly I do tons of cat shows with him and cause of his spazness he gets good ribbon. i now know hes a mix of birman/something else these are the larges pointed longhaired cats. and do have a double coat and man i wish not.
i will email ya cause i so want to see that kitty but also try the cfa home page. and look up the breeds also whats a fun thing is if theres a local show go to one they are lots of fun.

oh and the acfa link is something to try to: http://www.acfacats.com/
but here are some pointers in the longhair breeds,
ragdolls : the have a mask, they are pointed but have a like a racoon mask on the face
birmans : they are pointed and large but they have white gloves on the feet.
now siamese are very triangled face and very long.

I own a ragdoll and adore him. There are a few critical differences. A ragdoll's fur is fine and bunny rabbit soft while a siamese tends to be fairly short and slightly coarser.
The meow of a siamese is a loud yeowlll. The meow of a ragdoll is short and muted.. almost a squeek. Also, like their name, they really do go limp and are very cooperative upon being picked up. Ragdolls allegedly take 3-4 years to reach full maturity and they are large animals.
One more. A siamese has a slender, toned body. A ragdoll has a smoother appearence and will be bulkier. Hope this helps. Give your kitty a pet for me.

Flame point or red point is just equivalent to a red cat that shows the Siamese point color effect, with the color at the points and the body being lighter. The gene that causes the Siamese point colors, Himalayan, Ragdoll, etc all point color breeds, is a partial albino gene that is thermoreceptive, causing the cooler areas of the cat's body to be darker in color and the warmer body areas to be lighter.
People often refer to all point colored cats (and other species such as rabbits, which also have point colors caused by the same partial albinism gene), Himalayan or Siamese color, regardless of breed.
Thats why people probably said he looked like red point Siamese, referring to the gene for the pattern. And they may not have been aware that red point color exists in the Ragdoll breed!

EDIT:
Hi there
Thanks for the quick reply with pics.
Your cat is a Siamese Mix, ginger tabby point.
One parent was most likely a white shorthaired domestic cat, but one was most certainly a siamese. I'm sure of this, my two twins I had years ago had exactly the same markings, but their hair was longer - their dad was a white long-haired domestic cat.
The domestic side makes it more sturdy, and less 'gangly' like a Siamese.
I doubt it's Ragdoll, the size and build is not the same.
NICE CAT!! :D

I can't tell you the exact breed but I can say whatever breed he is mixed or not, he does have the flame points, also looks like lynx points (the tabby stripes on his head looks like an M). My guess is he's a mixed siamese like my cats, and a very pretty kitty.

I have not heard of any of these Siamese cats. "A red rag doll" doesn't really describe your cat, or any cat for that matter. Your description denotes a doll, rather than a cat. I have had many Siamese cats from seal point to lilac point and your term does not describe a Siamese feline at all.
Is your cat a stuffed animal or a real feline cat? It is nearly impossible for me to think that your cat looks like a "rag doll". I would need more information on this cat to make an informed decision.

I prefer hair that will is shoulder length or longer, And since that men who like females are more often then not right, they like long hair because this looks more feminine, as most males have short hair.

FYI - there is no DNA test to identify cat breeds - nor are they even talking about making one. I don't believe it's possible.
Why does it matter what your cat is? Most cats are mixes unless you have specific papers from a breeder specifying who it's parents were, parents' parents, etc.
