I you have the new Wendy's ads and wanta know why is the guy in Pippi Longstocking drag, then let me tell you. In the Wendy's logo(on outdoor signs), Wendy is a little girl with red, pippi longstocking-like hair. The tree kicking is to say "think about it,,don't you deserve a better burger. It makes no sense to follow the crowd just as it makes no sense to kick trees. My opinion! Hope it helps.

I Hate that commercial! I mute the tv every time it comes on. I have written and produced commercials for the better part of fifteen years and I can not believe that Wendy's would put that tree kicking crap on tv. They spent thousands to do that stupid commercial. Makes no sense. I do know that Dave Thomas modeled the logo after his own daughter (who is named Wendy) when he first opened and she was just a little kid. I do agree that she looks like Pippi.

i understand Dave Thomas's daughter is often guffawing at that sign on the grounds that replaced into her whilst she replaced into 8-years previous. She would desire to be an on the spot celeb everywhere she lives. a minimum of to the folk who understand the orgin of Wendy's.

The reason it's called "Wendy's" is that the original owner's daughter was named Wendy and I guess she had red pigtails when she was a little girl. Just thought I'd share that with YOU.
