If I ever do decide I want to marry, I do believe I would take his name... Not only because of tradition, but because that is one thing that he could give me that no one else could. It's much more than a name.

I will but it may not be easy if my first name does not match his last name. But like someone else said, a family should represent itself as a single unit.

well, i love my last name, but i think it would make my boyfriend look and feel weak if he took my last name, so i think with a little bit of sadness i will give mine up and take his because i think if we are gonna start a family we should have the same last name. at least both of last names are german so that will help me ease into the change.....

I probably won't... my last name's pretty unique. Most people, for some reason, don't believe me when I tell them it.
