All most in all or 90% of the cancers after giving the first cycle of Chemotherapy all the hair in the body will fall. Even hairs like eyebrow, eyelashes, pubeic regions and at armpit not to speak of head will fall off. Hair loss Chemotherapy is known as Alopecia. This is because the cells in the hair follicles grow fast and chemotherapy damages fast growing cells. So the question of using hair colour does not arise. In some cancers that too if it is in initial stages (Stage I) and if the patient has oral chemotherpy treatment the hair many not fall.
As a rule it is not at all safe to use any hair colour as the growth of follicles in the scalpe after chemo is damaged the chemicals in the dye may make permanent damages to scalpe.
Hair fall for Cancer patients is inevitable and you have to put up with it by using Wig, scarf, etc. The hair will grow up to the original positin after some time in any case within one year and at that time you can use hair colour duly consulting your Oncologist.

As a former cosmetologist I wouldn't recommend it because of the chemicals in it may interact because the dye has to penetrate the scalp into the root of the hair.
Many also have a strong smell & if you're already naseous I guarantee the smell will make you really sick.
There has long been a fear that certain chemicals used in the dyes are cancerous but it's never been proven as a fact.
But if you still want to risk it go with a organic dye that has less odor or risk of side effects. But be really careful & test a patch before putting it all over because when you're ill everything reacts differently. It could even burn your hair and you end up with a mess or bald.
I've never had it happen with anyone I've worked on (coloring was my specialty) but I've sure witnessed some major screw ups where clumps have fallen out, color went totally screwy, etc.
If you do go organic don't use henna. It's not supposed to be permanent but it does leave a permanent residue. Then if you use another kind on the hair still with the residue you have major problems unless you have a soap cap first.
If it seems I'm trying to persaude you against it you're right. There are just too many risks for the sake of feeling better about your looks. Use a wig or get a nice different hair cut if you need change. Wait a few months after your last chemo before having it colored.

I wouldn't if i was you theyare FULL of chemicals & toxins that can cause you futher medical grief I'd at least wait a year plus after chemo and what ever treatments you recieve - most doctors would probably say its ok but they don't know whats really in the colouring & I've seen studdies relating some brands to cancer
Some cancer societies offer wigs -- low cost or free of charge u may want to look into this safer alternative

After I went by means of chemo I had the toughest time loosing my hair. There's no way to stop loosing it. I cut it quick and wore all kinds of enjoyable hats. Some men and women simply shave it off and play around with wigs. It is rough to go via that used to be one of the most emotional day of my therapy however is better to have it done than to look at it fall piece through piece. Take knowledge of this opertunity and use hats or wigs to make you snigger. I'm sorry i hope every thing goes well.

Your body is suffering enough anguish when going through chemo - using hair coloring is not wise.
Try using wigs instead, and play with fun & funky styles and colors.
Enjoy yourself, and everyone around you will react positively to the changes.

The specialist advised my Mum not to colour her hair whilst she was having chemotherapy due to the chemicals involved.
Not all chemo treatment causes hair loss-it all depends on what you are being treated for but even though Mum didn't lose hers they still advised against it.

Yes..using a permanent color is definately not a good idea. Plus you will end up with sores on your head and it will cause bald spots...or at least it did for me.
I found that any type of temporary stain or rinse, does not have quite the same effect. Thus...it is safer then using any type of bleach or perm. haircolor.
Good Luck to you.
Blessings
