Religious people are delusional. We atheists can't expect theist to accept the facts that their god doesn't exist. Delusional people do not know they are delusional.

I haven't watched it yet. I'm about to though, and then I'll post what I thought about it. I'll be back in two hours.
BTW, I also watched Loose Change and Fahrenheit 9/11. Those failed to convince me, because they only told me about stuff I'd already researched and found to NOT be true. I'm sure Zeitgeist will be the same way.
Okay, I have now watched the first twenty minutes, and I don't think I need to watch any more. LOL. There were so many outright LIES in just the first twenty minutes it's not even funny.
Did Michael Moore have anything to do with Zeitgeist?
Here are some problems with it:
1. Jesus was not born on December 25th.
2. Horus was not born of a virgin, and his mother's name was not Isis-Meri. It was Isis. His father was Osiris.
3. The earliest writings about Mithra that contain all the things that resemble Jesus's life only date back to the second century. Oh, OOPS. They must have "accidentally" forgotten that.
The idea that Jesus was/is a "copycat myth" is an old theory.
Read this article:
http://www.christian-thinktank.com/copycatwho1.html
It's a bunch of lies. I don't need to watch the rest of the movie to know that. And it's pretty sad when people have to resort to LIES in order to try to "debunk" something. It's even sadder when people are gullible enough to believe those lies, and don't even take pause to examine it for themselves.
I've studied mythology from several different cultures. The "dying and resurrected" gods don't exist in them.

Well I can't watch it because it will not load and I do not have the time, but anyway I don't need a movie to disprove Christianity. Russell's teapot, Occam's razor, and that prayer violates the necessary criteria of god being omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent.
Also, I would be very hesitant about lumping religion in with 9/11. It is a catch-all for everything now... and while there are facts, it doesn't really have anything to do with that.
And yes we are screwed but that is only because most of the people in the world are incapable of critical thought, as demonstrated in the promotion of this film.

they are aggravating of Christianity. you in straightforward terms attempt to debunk some thing once you're taking it heavily as a danger. The presence of Christianity threatens their needed hedonistic existence variety.

That being said, it is my hope that people will not take what is said
in the film as the truth, but find out for themselves, for truth is not told, it is realized.
http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/statement.htm
With that being the end of the statement for the film I would have to think that people chose to believe what they want or what they perceive to be the truth. I have not watched the movie, I viewed the website and got the general idea. I guess I want to sit here and tell you not to believe in everything that you see or hear. There are always people out there that manipulate things to their advantage to get people to believe their stories. As long as christianity has been around, there has been more than one person in the past to prove it to be fake, a joke, ect. What makes this one person have enough to prove it to be bluff after all of these years and the archeologial artifacts that have been found to prove the Bible to be real? Can he tell you the Bible is fake when Noah's Ark is still sitting on MT Aarat? If so, I think that you are quick to listen and believe everything that you are told.
One day, we as citizens will lose our rights, we will have to bear a mark on our forehead or hand to be able to buy sell trade even survive here on earth. You will be put to death for not listening or accepting the mark. That is in the bible. That will happen. Jesus said so, and I believe that God's word will go farther than this man's word because he doesn't know what he doing. Look for the truth for yourself before you assume that he is telling you everything to be considered to be the truth.
Wouldn't it be weird if the conspiracy theory of the 9/11 event were true and real and the man that created the film was the one behind the conspiracy? It would make sense if he has all the correct information to prove it to be a conspiracy.
You might want to make sure that you find the truth for yourself to keep yourself from deception and following something that is false. It is ironic to me that no one can disprove the Bible completely to make believers drop their Bible and run. It is ironic to me that if the Bible was fake and "debunked" and everyone knows this for a fact, why they are trying to so hard to tear it apart. If it is fake and there is no truth to it , then there shouldn't be anything to tear apart or to criticize. If it is crap, then why should anyone worry about it if there is no truth to it? Why struggle to keep someone from believing in lies? I would see that to be pointless, except I believe man is afraid to find out there is truth in it. That would make us wrong in our ways as human beings, no one wants to be proved wrong right?
Time always tells the truth . Wait and watch what happens around you and the truth will reveal itself and you make sure that you know the difference between fact and fiction, God might sneak up on you.

If you know the ACTUAL prophecies that the Messiah will fulfill according to the JEWISH Torah, of which there are only about 16, watching the very first minute of that movie debunks Christianity right there.
How?
Because one of the prophecies that the Messiah will fulfill is that there will be no more war. The very first minute of that movie is filled with images of modern-day warfare.
OOPS! I guess Jesus forgot about that one! LOL
Of course, there is no second coming in Judaism for the Messiah, never has been. It's a Christian invention.
If the claimant to the title "Messiah" doesn't fulfill the prophecies IN HIS LIFETIME then he was certainly not the Messiah. Jesus didn't fulfill even one of the ACTUAL prophecies. Including the one concerning no more war.
So, forget the first 20 minutes of the movie debunking Christianity, the very FIRST minute does it quite nicely.
Of course, any Christian with half a brain could look around at the world today and see the same unfulfilled prophecy, but unfortunately they've been brainwashed with the "second coming" nonsense.
Wanna learn what the REAL Messiah will do, where he comes from, what his role is, and what it ISNT?

Why do you seem so proud of yourself? Proud that you think you've convinced millions, countless millions are living a lie? I can only imagine what kind of person lives their life lying to people about more lies. I pray that one day, you do see the light, and all who follow the cult depicted in that film. Those opinions on the "effortlessly debunked religion" where bias, backed by no fact, no truth. None. I felt as if Satan himself was speaking the entire time.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matt 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many .
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.

Do you think you could give me a summary? I have a feeling that 2,000 years of faith can't just be debunked in two hours. I want to hear what you have to say though, and I'd love to have a civil debate about this! I am a Christian. Email me.

i found the movie a little pretentious, but i was enthralled by the fact that they didn't let society scare them out of debunking Christianity as a whole, overall i found it a great movie that gave society the finger in a very informational way
