Id say get married when all who are important to both of you can come for the wedding.
During Christmas, everybody has something lined up to go to Unless you have told everybody at least 6 months or a year ahead, then you might not have all the guests you want.
Summer is the best time to get married . Everybody is raring to travel to somewhere, anywhere while the weather is good. Fall is the next best time, but you would be 8 or 9 months pregnant then.
As for taxes, you get more deductions as a married couple.

It really will not matter too much one way or another if you are married as far as your taxes go. The baby will make the most difference. Basically the choice is yours. If it makes you more comfortable to be married then do it and don't worry about looking selfish. That is an importamt decision that requires a lot of thought. Take your time and do it when your ready. Good Luck!!!

well... I would want to share the last name of the babies father on the birth certificate... so i would get married before the babies birth personally...
in regards to the tax question... is your income low? will the birth of this child qualify you for an "earned income credit"? i would ask a CPA.
my husband an I got married on new years eve (12-31) our reception was a big new years party SO everyone enjoyed coming as an alternative to having to find entertainment for the night (what a cheap "date" for our guests)... so if you choose to marry after the birth of the baby but before the new year i would suggest getting married on dec 31... everyone expected to go out and spend some money that day anyhow :) BEST OF WISHES

Get married in August or September.
Who cares about taxes!? Do the right thing and bring your baby into the world as part of a legal family.

as far as taxes go i believe that you have to be married for 6 months out of the year so it wouldn't help any way. i would get married b4 the baby was born so that your last name on the birth certificate will be the same as the babies. and it will make any old fashioned relatives happy. also i think timing it around Christmas and one month after you give birth will make it a bit stressful. its your call though

It is better tax wise to be single. I waited till my baby was 3 mos old to get married for the extra tax benefit. If I remember correctly, it made about a $2000 difference!

For your taxes I think it all comes down to what tax bracket you would be in if you filed together. People who have a lower income get back more I believe. Contact a CPA or H&R Block.
Good luck!
