RE:
My husband was charged with soliciting a prostitute, how is that classed, a felony or a misdomenor?
I got a call today that my husband was arrested and was in jail for soliciting a prostitute. I am curious what the charge is for that, and how stiff of a penalty it holds. Is there jail time or just a slap on the hand with a fine? We live in Michigan, if that makes a difference.

Michigan law is interesting- Soliciting starts out as a misdemeanor but as the number of priors so does that class of the crime- 2nd offense punishable by up to 1 year,3rd or subsequent offense up to 3 years in prison. This is assuming the person solicited is not a minor, which would activate a whole new set of laws. Your biggest worry isn't whether it's a felony or misdemeanor, it's what goodies hubby will bring home from an encounter, herpes, AIDS, Hep c, chlamydia, etc, etc, I rarely see a street hooker that isn't afflicted with one or more contagious diseases.

I just answer the question with just a common sense, I donot live in the US nor an American.
I didnot know that soliciting a prostitute is a crime in the US, well I am learning. The charge could just be a misdemeanor and the penalty is just a slap on the wrist no harm done naturally with a few fine to go with it and he could probably go home by the time I am still writing this in the forum. He is in jail because he was pick up for questioning, and just waiting for the bail to come up and pay it and he will be release.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.
Luckly there is a cure for herpes https://tr.im/c57e5

Usually a misdemeanor unless he is caught the third time. He may be charged a felony at that time.
