Well, from a guide like "how to be a doctor/lawyer", it always says that if one has a felony record, he/she must provie proof of reform and rehabilitation to take the exam to get the license. I want to know what is the proof of reform and rehabilitation.

Generally speaking, it is what you have done since the time of the offense. It can come in different forms, but primarily consists of two things. First, it involves having a record of being a "productive" member of society -- working, going to school, having no further criminal conduct. Second, it involves character references (especially from members of the profession or community leaders).

The reality is that what is sufficient proof is very much in the eyes of the licensing board.

If you can show that you are a better person despite your past whether written or otherwise. I work as a tax professional who 15 years ago went to prison and did 7.5 yrs. When I was released, I got a job at a local convenience store, and from their the sky was the limit. I have now been with the same tax firm for 4 years. I got letters from my old PO and from some other sources such as a psychological evaluation etc. The rest as they say, is history.

No more criminal behavior. Living a moral life and contributing to the community. Full time school or employment. Lastly loads of character references, the more prestigious the better. Then the licensing board makes the determination based on all of the testimony and evidence.

i think the justice system sucks since it fails the very group that needs help but instead they make life more difficult for people who have a criminal record. the only difference between them and others is that he or she got caught. they are bunch of hypocrites. what we all need is opportunity and recognition. that's the best way to rehabilitate the so called criminals, specially when they are younger. crime doesn't pay unless it's white color crime! the whole justice system is criminal and a hypocrisy! one can get away with murder if he or she has money and good attorney and one who is not guilty of a crime be sentenced to death since he or she is poor!! it is a sad reality ! there is no justice till there is real opportunities for every body !
