It makes me angry when I hear religious hypocrisy that somehow because someone is religious that means they have great morals or are better than the nonreligious. Evidence sure suggests they are no more in many cases a lot less moral than many nonreligious people. I think these religious leaders get a pass just due to calling themselves religious. I suspect a lot are unscrupulous as well as they have entered a field with a willingness to pull the wool over people's eyes so to speak to begin with. I think some religious leaders are in the business to take advantage of trusting and gullible people.

After being an atheist for half my life because of inconsistencies in the churches, I decided that I would never trust ANYONE. And that includes clergy that are all blowing a different melody on the Gospel trumpet.

Jesus said in John 4:23
"But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
4:24 "God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth."

Yes, this side of Heaven, don't hang your faith, or trust your children with anyone.

The Bible tells us to appoint elders and spread the Gospel, so there is to be churches and fellowship, but Jesus warned that "the enemy plants weeds in the church"; and that includes clergy.

A Bible code tells us who to trust. Select http://abiblecode.tripod.com

When you entrust your kids to ANYONE, you are taking somewhat of a risk. A priest is no more likely to be a child molester than a teacher or a babysitter. We live in a sick world. It's just best to make sure you know the person VERY, VERY well before you trust him/her with your children.

Not all priests are pedophiles no more than all lawyers are slime. Each person has to be looked at individually.

The truth is that the Catholic church needs to get over this celibacy kick and let priests get married!

We never really could, could we? Priests (at least the catholic ones) have raped, murdered, tortured, burned at the stake for a thousand years or so. We just don't take history seriously I suppose.

just a child molester hiding in God...probably thought that if he became a priest, he would lose his desire for the children.....eh wrong, that can only be done with prayer.....or they joined the church to *get* to know children.

The best plan is to simply avoid them altogether. If any of my children has ever been in a church, I'd be surprised.

It happens with family members,in daycare centers,on the streets. So I don't think so-called religeous people should be singled out.

I think they should be exacuted personaly, but there's many who would strongly disagree with me.
