i agree that religion is VERY flawed. if you can go to church not get so wraped up in your preacher and act like he is "perfect" that would be different. if they would stick to the word and not add or take away that would be different. why not ask God for the wisdom he wants you to have to understand his word? im not against going to church, and i would if i could find one i agree with. but in the mean time ill read my bible and worship him at home until i find the one.

Religion is not perfect because people are not perfect. Jesus loved the Church because the Church is people not a building. With out the church how do people come to know God and come to salvation? Why would you run from the problems and refuse to be part of the solution? No organization is perfect but fellowship with true Christians can only strengthen you and them as well. Find a church where the Bible is taught and make sure you keep the minister accountable. Some times God call us to do things on our own but His true nature is that we will be stronger as a team since we all have different gifts.

You hit the nail on the head, I do not think it is religion...I think it is just Man plain and simple...it doesn't matter what their beliefs are, people tend to take a good thing and screw it up...I do not think that is a reason to necessarily stop attending a church, but it would be time to find a different church not all organized churches are bad...but I agree Jesus wasn't complicated his message was of love and salvation, but man interfered and distorted the words.

Yes, I do agree with you. Too much politics and religion in church today. They need to get back to the Hell and brimstone Preachers who called sin a sin. Who gave altar calls that would sometimes last through the night. Who preached salvation and following in the footsteps of Jesus.
Now the preacher gets up and reads a little scripture or two from the bible, the choir or the congregation sings a few songs that few of them understand, and then the preacher talks a little about the next missionary or guest speaker they will have and then they say a little boring prayer and that is it. Nice little service where no one was embarrassed or called to account for their evil ways. Have to be careful and not offend, especially those who put money in the plate..yeah, I am a little dispointed in what passes for church these days.
I've often thought that organized religion was what God meant, when he said this?
"And I heard another voice from heaven saying, 'Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities'" (Revelation 18:4,5).

no people failed humanity but religion is a good example of that, look what we've turned it into. i have no problem with god but it's the people that has turned the church into the farce it is today, they are the ones who turned into that sunday morning fashion show. i think man has perverted it to the point where it's now nothing more then just another power struggle (like we don't have enough) look at it like playing a 2000 year game of telephone, i'm certain it was something to behold back when it started but now too many folks changed it to fit their own needs. i still think the bible has much nobility left in it ei: be your brothers keeper, turn the other cheek (in case you haven't noticed i have a hard time with that one) do on to other as you would have them do on to you and so on. in the end it is us not god that has fought these wars and it is us not god that has died and killed for these values and it is us not god that has changed religion into what it is today. personally i think god just points the way the rest we have to figure out for ourselves

Religion is a system of beliefs thought up by failable Humans. Now after generations and years of passing it down the lines get blurred. What happens when you make a copy from a copy from a copy? Well it gets lighter and less defined and if you kept doing it eventually it would be blank. I feel religion will follow the same fate.
