Not exactly. From what has been written on the subject, an evil spirit may be at one time from the earth- such as the spirit of a deceased person. A demon is not, so would be considered more dangerous. Neither is good to focus on. Love and light to you!

In most mythology, demons are more corporeal (sometimes even having physical bodies), and spirits are more etherial (sometimes not even being beings themselves, but just emotions or motivations).

They do refer to the same thing a lot, though. But if you wanted to call something one or the other, if it's got any kind of a form not made out of ectoplasm or ether or whatever, it's a demon.

Not the same thing.

Evil spirits -- depending on the question/view can be "evil" humans or "evil" Djinn.

Demons are higher energy beings that were once held in with the Angels -- essentially, they are Angels; just "fallen from grace"...the name changed; not the being.
