what i want to know is, why does anyone think that the ease with which the human mind can understand a concept about the universe has anything whatever to do with whether it's true? surely it's more relevant to ask whether once understood, the concept actually explains something about how the universe behaves?

I enjoy pondering such questions as this. I admit I cannot comprehend infinity or eternity. A boundary implies a division between two "things." If the universe has a boundary, then what is that other "thing?" People much more intelligent have declared that the universe is expanding, but I don't understand how this can be. They say that the other side of the boundary is just a void, but I can't comprehend that either. Life is mysterious and interesting in a somewhat tragic sort of way. I do believe that religions were created as a way to answer these unsettling questions, however, the explanations seem too simplistic to me, and I’m not any where close to an Einstein or a Hawking. I think that if the inability to live with these unknown mysteries bothers people, then that is a big factor in becoming or remaining religious. That, and fear of death.

They are roughly equivalent, but neither conception has anything to do with reality. The reality is that the universe is of finite size, but has no boundaries. Now THAT is hard to grasp. The usual model offered to describe it is a bug on the surface of a balloon; the bug can go where it pleases without ever encountering a boundary, but the balloon is nevertheless of finite size. Now imagine that the balloon is expanding, and you have a decent model of the universe.

nonononono whether the universe is increasing, which it truthfully is, it relatively is have been given to be finite perfect now, or there may well be not something to strengthen from! So: it relatively is kind of the two. What occurs to me is, i think of of the universe as some huge bubble which may be encased in some thing because of the fact it has room to enhance, yet won't be able to. My suggestion: enable's not get persnickety approximately each and every of the 11 dimensions of the international, yet circulate with time for a 2d. Time is going on continuously, whether it relatively is in ordinary terms a mathematical ray (a line that starts at a definite component (BB?) and extends infinitely previous). So enable's say the universe is going on continuously. it relatively is countless in a minimum of one know. If we take difficulty with this, and, nicely, the universe explodes, it relatively is relatively a count of rationalizing. Say there have been countless time contraptions, in decimal sort, that the universe existed. Or do not say something in any respect: we are going to quickly be ineffective. :) :) :)

Fifty years ago I spoke with a scientist that mathematically displayed that the universe was finite. Then he asked the mind-boggling question, "What's on the other side?"
Neither finite or infinite are comprehendable to us earthlings.
God displays the timing of the great conflict and how to conclude the Cosmic Conflict in a Bible code. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com

No. They are both really difficult to wrap your mind around. It's not as if the universe DID end, it would be anywhere near close enough to measure. Anything that large is difficult to grasp. And of course, endlessness is just as hard of a concept to grasp.

Actually, the Universe is flat with a curvature variation of about two degrees.
Why can't it be an infinite Universe with boundries?
