As long as she is eating fine then she would not be suffering from anything upfront that's usually the first thing that a dog stops doing when they are not feeling well. In order to get a dog to poop you need to take a Q-tip and wet it with cold water and rub it in a circular motion around her bum that should stimulate the puppy. I hope that helped.

A very young puppy is stimulated by it's Mum to poop. She will lick it's tummy and bottom, as your pup has no Mummy, you have to replicate this action with a small pad of damp cotton wool. Just wipe gently until the puppy poops. Unfortunately, if you don't do this, the puppy will eventually pass away.
As for the breathing, again she would be washed constantly by her Mum from birth which would stimulate the lungs and help to remove any fluid that had got in during the birth process. However, this should clear on it's own as soon as the puppy is moving around more. There is a lot of work in raising such a young puppy, they need to be kept at a constant temperature, fed every 2 hours on a specially formulated food, pooped every 2 hours and lots more. It is a full-time job.
I wish you well in raising this baby and hope that it grows up to be a lovely dog.

feed the puppy from bottle made for puppies and milk sub. for puppies. let it eat as much as it wants then stop don't force it to eat more.it may get some in its lungs which could cause snoring. have you been feeding it since day one or just started?? you have to take a worm damp cloth or paper towel and after feed ing wipe or clean the bottom area. the mother does this to stimulate the puppy to poop. also if the puppy is fat and health you do not have to feed it every two hours.ill work depending on the puppy. six or even 8 hours will work depending on the puppy.you can let it tell you when its hungry. at 3 weeks old start offering a good puppy food soften with water or puppy formula. I have raised several pups this way before. good luck

You have your hands full. Baby animals get there immunity from their mother's milk and without that they are open to all kinds of infections. The second thing is this noise, I am guessing you are feeding the puppy with a bottle or pipette or something... the problem could be the puppy is or has been aspirating fluid into its lungs. That is really bad. Also if the puppy is eating every 2 hours it should be going to the bathroom close to the same amount, if its not... this is really not good. Mother dog would lick puppy to stimulate voiding so get a warm (not hot)wet wash clothe and try rubbing gently on dogs anus and belly to imitate mother behavior.
I strongly suggest you get the puppy to a vet.

Its normal for puppies to breath like they are snoring, try feeling the puppies tummy, you can usually tell, if its hard, the puppy is probably constipated. You can also tell if the puppy does a lot of moaning and whimpering, usually during feeding time. Make sure you are feeding the puppy the formula food, it comes in liquid and powder and is usually found at all pet stores. Hope this will help you :0)

Are you feeding with a bottle? It's possible she could have aspirated. What breed?
Also you can take a warm wet cotton ball to stimulate her. Puppies sometimes get constipated if they get chilled , keep the puppy warm. If you have a heating pad you can use that set on low ONLY , if the puppy get's to warm she'll crawl off.
You can mix a little bit of dark karo syrup in with the formula, that usually helps.

take a damp paper towel or baby wipe and wipe the pup's butt several times a day because normally the mommy licks them to stimulate a bowel movement. wipe upwards, like how mom would lick.
has the puppy's breathing seemed ok until now? if this is a new thing, he may have a respitory infection. common, but needs treatment. if it has always made the noise and nothing has gotten worse, then it may be normal for it.
wow, you have your work cut out for you, waking up every 2 hours to feed the little gal. good luck!

The only way to know if puppy is constipated is to keep track of how much poop puppy makes. You should be stimulating the anus and belly with stroking motions of a wet, warm, soft cloth to stimulate defecation and urination, like the mother would. Is she pooping? Does it look hard, or like there isn't enough? Talk to your vet to see if they think it's OK, and what to do if it isn't.
When she seems to be snoring, is she asleep? What breed/s is she? Brachycephalic breeds tend to have snoring issues naturally.

H2o2Kat is absolutely right!
The puppy may have aspirated some formula into the lungs, which will turn into pneumonia, and kill the pup.
You really need to get it check out by a vet right away.

He might have a cold. as far as being constipated, has he been going to the bath room? If not he might be constipated and need his diet changed.
Your best bet on this since he is so young is to talk to your VET. If you don't have a VET yet find one close to you and go talk to them.
It might also be a good idea for the VET to look the little fellow over good considering how young he is.
