Does that matter so much as for a person to have a good heart and live a productive life? My religion is Asatru but the 9 Noble Virtues I follow are beneficial for everyone in life--and if there's no afterlife at least I know I've led a wonderful life. Those are:
1. Courage
2. Truth
3. Honor
4. Fidelity
5. Discipline
6. Hospitality
7. Self Reliance
8. Industriousness
9. Perseverance

they say god helps those who help themselves because if you don't no one will all gods that I've heard of were false if you are honest question things and seek the truth you can find the same on your own . for instance the bible supposedly the word of god has many mistakes like claiming the earth is only twelve thousand years old is ludicrous in this day of knowledge just as the idea of Noah's ark is entirely impossible . So just on that alone one must conclude that this god is false. Learn to define how good and bad are determined and live an honorable life for goodness sake .

Ah, but how would you prove that you indeed were following God and not the Devil even though somebody seemed to indicate that your God was a false God and not God because it was the Devil but really God?

Not worshiping God the only God would be a trick of the devil. Matthew 4:10 -Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.

besides, why would the devil want people to worship anyone aside from himself?

I am better of with believing there is a God and finding out I am wrong than with believing there is no God and finding out I was wrong. I don't feel the need to prove otherwise, that is why it's called faith...........

Prove what, you were tricked. If you mean try to prove you weren't tricked then that just seems pointless, move on and idolize some other false God.

I think a good way to tell is that if your religion sanctions unending blood letting and violence for the smallest of things then you are probably in actuality, serving the interests of the devil.

isnt this a george carlin skit? anyways you cant prove or disprove the theries of a religion cause its so full of "mystery" my personal opinion is that god needed a fall guy for all the bad things he knows are gonna happen to people so he asked his buddy lucifer to be that fall guy.
