What do you have to show that your version of god exists instead of someone elses? Let's pick one at random that is currently followed: Vishnu, a Hindu god.
What proof do you have that your god exists and theirs doesn't?
Faith? 'Cause they have that just as much as you.
The Bible? Well, the only parts that can be proven from it are the historical documentation aspects... not the theological aspects.
Miracles? Still gotta show that it's not Vishnu performing them.
Prophecy? Because those are so amibguous, open-ended, and subject to wild speculation that three different people will give you three different "fulfillments" of them.
So why do you think your god exists and none others? Do you think that, if you were born and raised in India in a Hindu family, yet were still told all about the biblical god... would you be a Christian?
Because nine times out of ten, your geographic region determines your lifelong religion. Doesn't this say something to you?

Southernmale42: Do you really, truly think only Christians get that "inner peace?" Oh, and not that it will dent your shell of circular reasoning... but you can't quote the bible to prove your religion. That's exactly like me writing a book about space aliens, then quoting it to prove they exist.

belongs: Thanks for your input, but you didn't answer the question. Why is it YOUR version of god that exists? Why not another?

Morningstar: Yeah, many in remote parts of the world become Christians. That is, after the rich missionaries with all the food, clothes, medicine, and nifty tech come and show them what their lifestyle is like. And promise to help them if they agree to become proselytized.
Oh, and what about the inroads that are being made by Islam and Buddhism in Western societies?
So...I'm still wondering what concrete reasons you have to follow your god.

Todd J: You're still using the bible to prove itself. Where is the proof of Jesus's amazing miracles outside of the bible? Josephus? A close examination of the text will show how miniscule the chance is that it wasn't added later by church leaders.
Any other outside source pretty much only mention that Christians claimed to follow a person named Jesus, and all the miracles he supposedly performed seemed to be kept under wraps to a mind-boggling extent.

hisgloryisgreat: Why do I trouble myself? Well, a few minutes of typing isn't really much trouble. But anyway, the religion is no more valid than any other, yet Christians in the U.S. try to enforce it in legislation on EVERYONE... yet barely give any thought to what they profess to believe in, or why.

Bravo
As the bible nor the koran are neither tethered by fact, they can make up pretty much anything. One of the reasons their baseless fantasies have been able to survive for so long

between Christians attempting to coach that God exists and atheists attempting to coach that He does not, an excellent variety of very effectual power is being wasted -- psychological power that ought to pass a protracted thank you to fixing different international problems. I advise that the two component provide up attempting to cajole the different one that they are suited, and turn a number of that power into innovations that certainly accomplish some thing. Like, "How am i able to help remedy the starvation subject in the international?" or "What am i able to do to place an end to homelessness in my community?" you won't have the skill to remedy the entire subject with the help of your self, yet 5'll get you ten which you are going to have the skill to return up with some thing useful you're able to do to help. That looks like a much better use of time and psychological components than dropping power attempting to coach or disprove the unknowable.

For one: All other religions are man's quest to get to god by works or other means. The God of the Bible came to US. And yes, prophecy, but you seem to have a preconceived idea that these prophecies aren't acceptable..I think you need to take the time to look again (Without bias).
Look at the middle east now and Israel's reestablishment as a nation: these were all foretold in the Bible and the events are coming true in our generation. http://www.100prophecies.org/
Also, because of our conscience, we must know that God is a moral being. If we look around, we can see God's characteristics being the same as in the Bible.

God Bless you...
First...ALL of the Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah were fulfilled by only one person--Jesus of Nazareth. That is not coincidence. If a few had been, but others not fulfilled by Jesus, then we could doubt that He was the one. But since ALL of them were fulfilled perfectly by Him, that is pretty strong evidence that God is real. Nostrodamus is nowhere near as accurate as the Bible is and was at fulfilling prophecy.
Second, WHERE IS THE BODY? Not even the Jewish and Roman officials could provide a body to shut up the Apostle's claim of the resurrected Christ. That's all they would have had to do, and considering that one of Jesus's own betrayed Him when He was alive, don't you think that at least one of these Apostles that were in hiding for fear of their lives would have caved? BUT THEY DIDN'T. In fact, nearly all of them went to horrific deaths loudly proclaiming the risen Christ--the few that didn't were exiled and hunted by the Romans. Those are not the actions of people who have not witnessed the greatest miracle of all time. And it wasn't Vishnu--Christ prophesied His crucifiction, death, and resurrection--as well as the Old Testament texts. Vishnu didn't write those.
My question to you is: What are you afraid of? Is the prospect of having a God who will judge you and hold you accountable for what you do that scary that you push off into semantics and philosphical tricks to assuage your ego?
God wants to love you, not judge you. All you have to do is believe in the person and works of Christ, who was God incarnate. He shed His blood for you...so you will not have to stand under judgement. Just beleive in Him. That's all you have to do.
God Bless you.

I don't have to prove God exists, I know he does.God gives every single person on this earth a chance for salvation at least one time. It does not matter where they are born. What they choose is up to them. You would be surprised at some of the remote locations in the world who have turned to my Christian God.

The calm and inner Peace I get when I give Him the praise and the glory. It can't be explained, only experienced. Here are some sources that can help you understand if you choose to believe. Thanks for the question and have a great day!!
If others get inner peace from their belief then great. I am glad they have the faith they need. Even though I do not agree with them, it doesn't mean I judge them. And, like I said, it is something that has to be experienced. You have the right to believe the way you like, that is the great thing about freewill. Hope that helps clarify. Thanks.

Further proof that religion is a cultural entity, not divine truth. It shares parallels with evolution. The one belief in god began, most likely by chance, then evolved (from many gods to one god, etc, etc) and became specialized after geographic isolation.
