You don't. This is a decision she needs to make. If you "convince" her to go, and she is homesick, guess who catches all the blame? YOU. Just tell her you'd like her to come, you will be there with her...but leave the decision up to her.

See a psychologist or a counselor. Seriously, your issues are beyond the names people call you. Suicidal thoughts are an indication that you have unresolved emotional issues surfacing. Seek some professional help. There is no cure for homesickness. There is only time and diversion. Try doing something different. Hang out with a different crowd. Do some sports where your adrenaline and your heart is pumping. The main thing is to get yourself away from those people that make you feel so bad and give your mind something else to think about instead of worrying about what those people think. Join a sports team. Take a Kung Fu or dance class. You will feel a lot better about yourself and maybe learn a few new things.

Going to Camp, or anywhere away from home for the first time can be scary. If you've been to the camp before, reassure her of the FUN that you all will have and be sure to get her involved in all the activities.. If she does well during the day but then suffers at night encourage her to write a letter or journal every night to her mom telling about all the exciting things she is doing or learning. If she meets new kids and stays busy, the time will pass quickly and before you know it you will all be going home and she will probably realize that she has had a WONDERFUL time and will want to return next time.

Try to keep her busy the entire time and tell her that you're really glad she is there! If that doesn't work, call her a big baby! J/K
